NordicTrack T 9.5 S - Pros

Large 14" Smart HD touchscreen console

The 9.5 S comes with a 14″ touch screen display, one of the largest you’ll find on a home treadmill. It’s a step up from the 10″ screen found on the mid-level T 8.5 S treadmill.

Note that the base T 6.5 S has a 10″ screen as well, making that a good option for those on a budget.

A touch screen brings you closer to a health club experience, which makes your workouts more enjoyable. You can view all of your workout stats and also view Google map locations around the world via iFit, an exclusive immersive experience available only on NordicTrack and ProForm cardio machines.

Although more and more treadmills have touch screens now, it’s still hard to find on less expensive treadmills. NordicTrack has found a way to include them on almost all of their new treadmills and ellipticals.

Endless Library of Workouts

The 9.5 S comes with a limitless number of workout programs through iFit, as we mentioned above. Although it does require a yearly membership, as of this writing the first year is included for free in the price.

Even without an iFit subscription, you get access to a number of on-demand workout programs designed for all fitness levels. Signing up gives you a whole lot more, plus workout tracking and sharing, Google maps of locations worldwide, nutrition and sleep recommendations, and a whole lot more.

NordicTrack is constantly updating iFit, which means you’ll always have access to new programs to help you take your fitness to the next level.

Powerful Yet Quiet Motor

The motors on the T Series have all been upgraded, which is a nice feature. The previous entry level C Series did not have strong motors, and that was one of the complaints that consumers had.

The T 9.5S has a 3.6 CHP DurX Commercial Plus motor, which is very capable yet remains relatively silent during even the hardest workouts.

It’s a big jump up from the 2.6 CHP motor on the base T 6.5Si model, and small step up from the 3.5 CHP on the mid level T 8.5 S.

Large Cushioned Running Deck

The NordicTrack 9.5 S comes with one of the largest running surfaces you’ll find on a residential treadmill…20″ x 60″, which is plenty of room for even the tallest of runners.

The 8.5 S also has the same size deck, which is a step up from the shorter 20″ x 5″ on the base T 6.5 Si treadmill.

All of the T Series treadmills have FlexSelect cushioning, so you can choose how hard or how soft the running surface is. This is great for those who are rehabilitating an injury, or just want less impact on the knees and joints.

Others who want to replicate an outdoor run can do so as well by selecting a firmer surface.

Lots of Extras

As we mentioned above, NordicTrack includes just about everything on their treadmills.

On top of all of the workouts, the touch screen, the powerful motor and the large cushioned running deck, you get up to 12% incline, Next-Gen Bluetooth connectivity, a workout fan, transport wheels, integrated tray and one touch controls, among other nice comforts.

NordicTrack T 9.5 S - Cons

Warranty Could Be Improved

We noticed that the company recently lowered the warranty on the treadmill frame, from lifetime to ten years. This is the case on all of their treadmills, including the top of the line X32i Incline Trainer.

Although 10 years is a long time, and NordicTrack has a pretty good track record, it’s still a bit surprising that they are only offering 10 years instead of lifetime on everything, especially given the fact that they improved their warranties significantly just a few years back.

Hopefully they will be able to offer that again in the future.

Max Weight Capacity Same On All Machines

All treadmills in the T Series have the same 300 lb. max user weight, but in the past the more advanced models in a series offered higher weight limits.

The T 6.5 Si, T 8.5 S and T 9.5 S all have the same capacity. Not a huge deal, and they can all accommodate most users. But it would be nice if the 9.5 S came with a higher max of 325 lbs. or 350 lbs.

NordicTrack T 9.5 S - Conclusion

If you’re in the market for a home treadmill with plenty of features and capabilities, the NordicTrack T 9.5 S is definitely worth a look.

It’s the top end of the more affordable T Series, and you get everything you need including on-demand workouts, tracking, touch screen, incline training, large cushioned deck and so much more.

If you want something a bit more advanced, something that can stand up to heavier usage, check out the Commercial Series, including one of our favorites the Commercial 1750.

If you want even more incline as well as decline training, take a look at the Incline Trainer series. Although it’s a bit more expensive, these treadmills give you stronger motors, even larger running areas, more built in workouts and larger touch screen consoles.
