NordicTrack X24 Incline Treadmill Review

Overview
The NordicTrack X24 is one of two incline treadmills introduced in 2024 to replace the previous X22i and X32i. It is joined by the X16, similar to the X24 in most respects besides the touch screen size. The X24 has a 24″ touch screen, the X16 has a 16″ touch screen. Otherwise, the two new incline trainers offer the same features and capabilities.
The Incline Treadmills have always been a big seller for NordicTrack, due to the fact that there are really no competitors in this space. They offer up to 40% incline (most treadmills on the market max out at 15%) and they also decline to -6%. You’ll be hard pressed to find another decline treadmill in this price range.
On top of the incline and decline capability, you get a host of other unique features: low impact cushioning, pivoting touch screen displays and of course the exclusive iFIT workouts, an immersive world with unlimited workout choices, tracking and sharing capability, Google maps of locations around the world and so much more.
Let’s get into our NordicTrack X24 review to see what this new treadmill is all about…

NordicTrack X24 - Best Features
Large Touch Screen Display
Like all of the new NordicTrack treadmills, the X24 comes with an awesome touch screen display. At 24″, it’s larger than the previous 22″ on the outgoing X22i but smaller than the 32″ screen on the outgoing X32i. Both of those treadmills were discontinued in 2024 to make way for the new X16 and X24 incline treadmills.
The screen is also pivoting as opposed to being fixed on most residential and commercial treadmills, so you can adjust it to the perfect angle for viewing on or off the machine.
Note that NordicTrack is now offering streaming capability as part of iFIT (read more below), which means you can watch your favorite shows, videos, movies, etc. on Netflix, YouTube and others while you work out. They experimented with this several years ago, but switched to only iFIT workouts until now. This is a welcome change as you have more options now to enjoy your workouts.
Incline/Decline Capability
Of course one of the biggest draws of the NordicTrack X24 and its little sister the X16 is the incline and decline capability as we mentioned above. You won’t get this anywhere else. Both models give you up to 40% power incline and down to -6% power decline.
This wide range allows you to target different muscle groups and simulate an outdoor run or hike. This is perfect for when the weather isn’t cooperating but you still want to get your hills in.
A cool feature as part of iFIT is automatic incline and decline adjustment, something called SmartAdjust. So when you choose one of the workouts you don’t have to manually change anything…it all gets done for you, along with the speed. It’s completely hands free running once you select a workout program.
iFIT Workout Technology
The NordicTrack X24, like the rest of the new treadmills in the lineup, comes with iFIT built in. They used to offer free trials for a few months or one month, but now you need to pay for it. They do give you a discount on the treadmill when you join, however.
iFIT has over 10,000 workouts to choose from, beginner up to expert, with personal trainers all over the world. You can choose a remote or familiar location via Google maps.
One of the newest features is an AI coach that can select and schedule workouts for you to keep you headed towards your fitness goals. ActivePulse keeps you in your ideal heart rate zone. And as we mentioned above, the machine automatically adjusts your speed, incline and decline to match your selected workout.
Currently you can choose 1,2 or 3 year iFIT memberships. It works out to about $39 a month for each, but they sometimes offer additional discounts
Advanced Cushioning
If you’re a runner you know about the important of minimizing impact on the back and knees. Of course it’s tough to do that outdoors, but indoors you definitely have choices.
The NordicTrack X24 comes with the company’s most advanced cushioning…SpringFlex, which absorbs impact allowing you to work out longer without the usual pain some lesser treadmills cause.
Other Great Features
Along with incline and decline capability, large, pivoting touch screen, iFIT workouts and special cushioning, you get speeds up to 12 mph, a powerful 4.25 CHP motor, spacious 22″ x 60″ running deck, Bluetooth capability, water bottle holders, up to 400 lb. weight capacity and AutoBreeze fan.
NordicTrack X24 - Pros and Cons
Pros
There are tons of pros when it comes to the X24 incline treadmill as you read about above. You get unmatched incline and decline, there’s plenty of space to walk, jog or run, the cushioning is solid, endless IFIT workouts, large touch screen that pivots and tilts.
Don’t try to find that combination elsewhere…it just doesn’t exist. Which is why NordicTrack owns the home treadmill market essentially.
We’ve been reviewing NordicTrack treadmills for over 15 years, and they just keep getting better and better technology wise. iFIT has grown from a small library of trainer workouts to over 10,000+. The new streaming capability opens up a lot of doors…you used to have to stream on your TV while working out but now you can do it right on the machine.
Also, now that the screen is tilting you can work out off the treadmill (iFIT has yoga, stretching and other non treadmill workouts) and be able to see the screen comfortably.
They also upped the max user weight to 400 lbs from 300 lbs on the previous incline trainers, so it’s a much sturdier machine. And the lifetime motor warranty is also a sign of better quality.
Cons
There are not too many drawbacks to the NordicTrack X24 treadmill. However, it’s not the cheapest treadmill you’ll find, although we wouldn’t expect it to be.
At $2,999 on sale it may be out of reach for some people, especially with the additional iFIT membership cost. But they do offer discounts and now all of their treadmills are HSA/FSA eligible, which can certainly help with the costs.
Also, back in the day some of the higher end NordicTrack treadmills came with a free Bluetooth heart rate monitor. Now you have to purchase them separately. But at $99 it’s not too bad for wireless capability.
Summary
Overall, the new NordicTrack X24 is a great choice for the home gym. Although it is pricey, it’s well worth the cost given all of the features it offers.
If you want to save a little but take a look at the NordicTrack X16, which is essentially the same treadmill just with a smaller touch screen.
Also look at the Commercial Series if you don’t need as much incline and decline capability. Those are also very popular choices and come at a lower price point.
