Pros

Enhanced Watts Display

The ProForm Sports Series models feature a new Watts LED display that tells you exactly how hard you are working, keeping you in the ideal zone.

There is Endurance (slow and steady), Tempo (ideal based on weight) and Peak (cardio max). You’ll know exactly how hard you are training which makes your workouts more effective.

iFit Technology

Just like the up-level ProForm SPort 7.5 model, the 5.0 also comes with Bluetooth iFit technology.

For a nominal yearly fee, you can tap into tons of additional personal trainer created workouts, track and share your results, and perhaps best of all, choose any destination in the world and watch it unfold right in front of you on your phone or tablet.

With iFit it is like you are training outside, and the machine automatically adjusts its incline to match the terrain you picked.

Incline Capability

The Sport 5.0 gives you up to 10% incline, which helps you target different muscle groups and get even more out of your workouts. It is easily adjusted with the touch of a button, and transition from one to the next is seamless.

Other Great Features

The Sport 5.0 also gives you a decent 2.5 CHP motor, 20 built-in workouts, ProShox cushioning, iPod music compatibility and SpaceSaver design for easy folding and storage.

Drawbacks

Might be better off with the Sport 7.5

There are no real drawbacks to the Sport 5.0 as you get a ton of features and capabilities. However, when we compare it to the Sport 7.5, it doesn’t look quite as good.

For just $200 more, the 7.5 gives you a stronger motor, more incline, more workouts, larger belt, higher weight capacity, workout fan and a better warranty.

So although not really a negative, it is worth mentioning.

Conclusions

The ProForm Sport 5.0 is a fantastic choice as an entry level treadmill with loads of goodies including incline, music, iFit, workouts and easy folding. But definitely take a look at the Sport 7.5 which seems to be a much better buy.
