Pros

Touch Screen Technology

The Premier 900 is the least expensive model offering a touch screen, a nice upgrade from the LED display found on the Sport 7.5 model.

You get a nice 7″ full color, web-enabled touch screen so you can see all of your workout stats as well as log onto the internet to watch videos, check your social pages, talk to friends or whatever it is you like to do online.

iFit Technology

One of the highlights of any ICON Health & Fitness machine, the ProForm Premier 900 treadmill comes with iFit technology built right into the machine.

This gives you access to unlimited specialized workouts on top of the 30 built into the machine, as well as tracking and sharing capability and the most exciting feature of all, Google maps integration.

With Google maps, you choose any destination in the world and the treadmill automatically adjusts its incline to match the terrain.

iFit does require a subscription, but it is well worth it for all of the features that you get.

Adjustable Tablet Holder

The Premier 900 comes with an adjustable tablet holder, so you can place it in the ideal position for you. Most treadmills, even the most expensive ones, come with a fixed position tablet holder which means you are stuck viewing it in a position that might not be comfortable for you. Now you can adjust it to meet your needs.

Other Great Features

The Premier 900 treadmill gives you tons of additional features, including a powerful 3.0 CHP motor, ProShox cushioning, SpaceSaver design with the easy folding option, iPod music compatibility, Bluetooth wireless heart rate monitoring (not found on Sport series) and a CoolAire workout fan.

Drawbacks

Deck Size

Although not a deal breaker, the deck size on the Premier 900 is only 55″ wide, which is not ideal for larger individuals. Both the Sport 7.5 and the uplevel Premier 1300 come with 60″ wide belts…something to consider if you are on the larger/taller side.

Conclusions

The ProForm Premier 900 is a very good treadmill offering a ton of features for under $1000 when it’s on sale.

You get touch screen technology with a built in browser which really helps make working out more enjoyable, plus incline, iFit, music, heart rate monitoring, adjustable tablet holder and so much more.

If you don’t need a touch screen, you can save a little money with the Sport series. Also take a look at the up-level Premier 1300, which gives you a stronger motor, 10″ touch screen, larger belt size, more built in workouts and a higher max weight capacity.
