Pros
No Need for Assembly
Assembling a treadmill can be a real pain, especially if you are someone who is not mechanically inclined. The ProForm Thinline Desk treadmill has solved this problem easily with its unique system.
The treadmill comes fully assembled right out of the box. You can set it up in a couple of minutes and get started with your workout. This is an excellent feature which saves you a lot of time and effort.
Large and Comfortable Running Track
The 22″ x 60″ track is very spacious – the 22″ width offers plenty of room for your upper body and the 60″ length allows you to stretch out your stride and walk comfortably. The deck is also fully cushioned to cut down the stress on your joints and lower the risk of injuries.
Adjustable Desktop/Console
The treadmill’s console folds into a desktop. This innovative design allows you to use the machine both as a normal treadmill as well as a desktop treadmill, which is very cool.
When you want to work, you can lower the console and use the desktop surface to hold your laptop or files. When you want to work out, you can just leave the console up and train like you normally do.
Unlimited Range of Workout Programs
The ProForm Thinline Desk Treadmill has 40 built-in workout programs, which is quite amazing. Even some high-end treadmills do not offer such a large range of training programs.
The machine is also iFit enabled – with the module already built in. An iFit account offers you a whole new range of possibilities including the ability to replicate real-life runs using Google Maps, access to workout library, fitness progress tracking, and many more.
Incline/Decline Training
Desk treadmills usually do not offer incline/decline training option, since they are marketed towards people who like to walk while they work. The idea is to stay active while working to increase the basal metabolic rate.
The Thinline Desk, however, offers incline as well as decline training options. With a reasonably powerful motor (2.75 CHP) and a large running track, the machine is good enough to be used as a stand-alone treadmill.
Space Saving Design
The treadmill is designed to take up as little storage space as possible. Thanks to the SpaceSaver design, the machine is only 12 inches at its thinnest when folded up vertically.
Ease of Use
The handlebars have built-in controls that allow you to adjust the speed, incline, and decline instantly.
Tablet – Treadmill Syncing Technology
There is a tablet holder where you can slide your tablet in and access your files or watch your favorite songs and movies.
Interestingly, the treadmill is designed to sync with your tablet seamlessly. It allows you to control the treadmill and adjust the speed, incline, and decline using your tablet. Another unique feature that you don’t find anywhere else.
Additional Features
The Thinline Desk Treadmill has what are essentially considered standard ProForm features – iPod compatible music system with speakers, large backlit display, workout fan, handlebars with heart rate tracking sensors, and quick speed and incline controls.
Cons
Small Rollers
The tread belt is supported by 1.9″ rollers, which are smaller than the standard 2.5” rollers found in most mid-range and high-end treadmills. Larger rollers are always better because they reduce friction and prevent wear and tear to a greater extent. But this is certainly not a deal breaker given all of the other amazing features and capabilities this treadmill offers.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a great cardio machine to use while you work, the ProForm Thinline Desk Treadmill is an excellent choice. It offers a comfortable desktop surface for work purposes. It rivals certain mid-range treadmills in terms of the features offered and is certainly good enough to be used as a stand-alone treadmill.
