Pros

Longer Track

One of the problems with budget treadmills is that they usually have a 55” track, which is sufficient only if you are of average height. If you are tall, you might feel a little cramped for space.

Fortunately, the Sport 7.0, despite being a budget-friendly treadmill, comes with a 60” track. The extra five inches of space allows you to take full strides and train comfortably. The very similar Performance 600C model has a long track as well.

iFit Compatibility

The 7.0 is compatible with iFit Live. With an iFit account, you can download customized workout programs, receive instructions from professional trainers, and track your fitness progress closely.

An iFit account also allows you to break the monotony of indoor running. Using Google Maps, you can pick a route from anywhere in the world – be it Barcelona or Boston – and the treadmill will change its incline to simulate the landscape. You can also watch the route on your laptop or tablet while you train.

Cushioning System

The Sport 7.0 features one of the best cushioning systems in its class. The patented ProShox cushioning absorbs impact evenly, reduces the stress on your joints, and makes sure your workout sessions do not take a toll on your body.

Incline Training

The treadmill offers you the option of incline training to make your workout sessions a bit more challenging. The deck tilts by up to 12%, which is enough to boost your calorie-burning rate significantly. You can adjust the incline from 0% to 12% using the in-handle controls or the control buttons on the console.

Tablet Holder

In addition to the iPod-compatible music port, which is available in all the treadmills from ProForm, the Sport 7.0 also has a removable tablet holder. You can affix your tablet to the holder and access your files or watch your favorite songs and videos as you train.

Cons

Motor

The 2.75 CHP motor is ideal for walking, jogging, and even light running. If you are a serious runner, you should look for a treadmill that has a 3.0 CHP motor at the very least, such as the other models in the ProForm Sport and Pro series.

Extra Cost for iFit Live

The Sport 7.0 is iFit compatible, but you have to buy the module separately. You also need an iFit subscription, for which you need to pay a monthly fee.

It should be noted that the treadmill comes preloaded with 22 workout apps. So, even without iFit, the 7.0 offers you plenty of choices in terms of workout programs.

Conclusion

The ProForm Sport 7.0 is yet another reliable, affordably-priced, and conveniently designed treadmill from a company that remains one of the most popular, along with NordicTrack, for home use. The machine is a perfectly good choice if you intend to use it for walking, jogging, and light running.

If you really enjoy running, you should consider spending a couple hundred dollars more and get a treadmill with a more powerful motor. Some popular choices include the ProForm Sport 9.0 S, NordicTrack C 990, and Sole F63. All of these machines have a 3.0 CHP motor and also come with a runner’s track and a much steeper incline.
