Pros
Extra Large Deck
The Matrix T70 features the largest running deck of all of their treadmills.
At 60″ long and 20″ wide, there is plenty of space for even the tallest of users to stretch out and exercise in total comfort.
It’s a big step up from the 20″ x 55″ deck found on the base TF30 model.
Powerful/Quiet Motor
The T70 also features the exclusive 3.0 HP Continuous-Duty AC drive system, which is an industrial grade motor that delivers unrivaled performance.
It delivers more power and is designed to reduce friction, which keeps the motor cooler and quieter than you typically find.
Three Different Console Choices
All of the Matrix treadmills come with three different consoles that you can choose from.
There’s the basic XR, with ViaFit workout tracking, six built in workouts including the patented Sprint 8 Interval program and Passport HD video compatibility.
Moving up you have the XER Intuitive console, a 10″ touch screen that adds on-board videos, Bluetooth capability, speakers, USB port and fitness apps, as well as 14 workout programs.
At the top of the ladder you have the XIR Ultimate, which has all of the features of the XER, just with a 16″ HD touch screen instead of a 10″ one.
Ultimate Deck System
The Matrix T70 features the Ultimate Deck System, which is an extremely durable frame as well as the most advanced cushioning available, giving you the perfect amount of support and give.
This makes your workouts more comfortable and reduces the amount of stress on your knees and joints.
Other Great Features
Some other great features include a 2-ply waxed belt that eliminates the need for lubrication, incline up to 15%, speed up to 12.5 mph, heart rate grips, water bottle pockets and a 400 lb. max weight capacity.
Drawbacks
May Be Too Expensive For Some
Although not technically a drawback, the Matrix T70 treadmill is on the pricey side, but that’s not to say that it’s not worth it…because it absolutely is for what you are getting.
With the base XR console, it will cost you around $3799 on sale. it’s an additional $500 for the advanced XER and XIR consoles.
Still, if you compare them apples to apples with Life Fitness and Precor, you get a lot more for your money with Matrix hands down.
Conclusions
The Matrix T70 is a great treadmill if you are looking for a high-end, commercial grade treadmill for your home.
It has everything you could ever want, and will give you years of maintenance-free usage no matter how hard you pound away at it.
If you want to save a little money, look at the T50 model as well, which is about $600 less and doesn’t sacrifice much.
Matrix is quickly becoming a brand to reckon with in the high end residential market, and for good reason. They make an incredible product.
