Matrix TF50 Treadmill - Pros
Console Selection
One of the best features of the Matrix TF50, as well as the rest of the residential models, is the fact that you can choose the console that most appeals to you.
You have the basic XR, an 8.5″ LCD, the XER, a 10″ touchscreen display with Bluetooth, the XIR, a 16″ HD display and the XUR, a 22″ premium console.
The number of workouts and other features depend on the console that you choose.
Ultimate Deck System Cushioning
Matrix treadmills feature the exclusive Ultimate Deck System, which features a highly durable frame, an extra thick 1″ deck and industrial grade cushioning.
This special system guarantees that the TF50 is virtually maintenance free and will last for years and years to come.
Folding Frame
Rarely do you find a high-end treadmill that is foldable, but the TF50 and its little sister the TF30 are fully foldable, making them great choices for smaller spaces.
They feature a 4 wheel transport system, unlike the usual 2, so you can easily move the treadmill from one place to another.
If folding is not something you need, take a look at the T50 treadmill as well.
Other Great Features
The Matrix TF50 also features a generously sized 20 x 60″ deck (55″ on the TF30 model), up to 12% incline, water bottle pockets, heart rate grips and a generous warranty: lifetime frame, 7 years parts and 2 years labor.
You also get iFit workout technology, which gives you additional workouts on top of the ones built into the machine. You can also choose destinations anywhere worldwide with Google maps, compete against friends or family, track and share all of your workout metrics and much more.
Matrix TF50 Treadmill - Drawbacks
Not Inexpensive
Matrix treadmills are commercial grade, so they are more expensive than Johnson Health & Fitness’ other brands, Horizon and Vision.
However, these are top of the line machines, so you are certainly getting what you pay for. They may be out of reach for some consumers, but if you have the budget for them they are about as good as it gets.
Heart Rate Monitoring
A Polar wireless heart rate strap is only included with the up-level XER and XIR consoles. It would be nice if they included it with the base XR console as well.
Matrix TF50 Review - Conclusions
The Matrix TF50 folding treadmill is a great choice for those looking for a very high end machine made with the best components that will last for years and years with little to no maintenance required.
With four console choices, incline capability, the Ultimate Deck System and iFit workout technology, it has everything you need for an effective, enjoyable workout.
If a gym-quality treadmill is what you are looking for, then you can’t do better than Matrix Fitness.
