NordicTrack T Series 16
Overview
The NordicTrack T Series 16 is designed for buyers who want more than a basic treadmill without spending premium-level money. It combines a 16-inch HD touchscreen, iFIT compatibility, adjustable cushioning, and a SpaceSaver folding design into a machine that’s well suited for walking, jogging, and regular running.
Within NordicTrack’s lineup, the T16 sits above the base T10 and below the more expensive Commercial Series. It shares many of the same core features as the T10, but upgrades to a stronger motor and a much larger touchscreen, making it a better choice for users who plan to run more often or want a better iFIT experience.
If you’re looking for a treadmill that balances performance, technology, and value, the T16 is definitely worth considering. While it doesn’t include every premium feature found on NordicTrack’s higher-end models, it offers enough capability to satisfy the needs of most home users for years to come.
Let’s take a closer look.

Best Features
Generous Incline & Speed Capability
Typically entry level treadmills give you up to 10 mph speed and/or 10 levels of incline.
The NordicTrack T Series 16 gives you more of each, with speed up to 12 mph and incline up to 12%, both of which offer the ability to ramp up your training even more.
You get at least 12% incline on all NordicTrack treadmills, and even up to 40% on the X Series models, which is why the company stands a lone when it comes to incline training.
Diverse Workouts With iFIT
One of the biggest draws of NordicTrack is the iFIT workout program, one of the most expansive training experiences you will find.
For those who haven’t seen it before, it’s membership-based app that gives you a growing library of workouts to choose from led my professional trainers in settings all around the world.
You can track your workouts, share your achievements, and the best part is the NordicTrack T Series 16 automatically adjusts its speed and incline to match whatever workout you selected.
We’ve been using iFIT on our treadmills, ellipticals and other cardio equipment for years and it really transports you to those places, especially on the big touch screens. Definitely makes the workout experience more enjoyable.
Adjustable Cushioning To Reduce Impact
The NordicTrack T Series 16 as well as the entry level T10 offer SelectFlex cushioning, which allows you to choose the type of surface you want to work out on.
The soft setting has a lot more give and reduces impact on the joints. I actually have bad knees so I choose the softer setting just so I can train for longer periods of time.
The hard setting replicates an out door run, which is something that many runners prefer. There’s still cushioning and it’s not as challenging as running outside, but it’s a lot firmer than the soft setting.
So you can choose which feel works best for you.
Compact Footprint & Easy Folding Capability
The NordicTrack T Series 16 has a relatively compact design, with a smaller overall footprint than the Commercial and X Series treadmills.
At 75″ long, 34″ wide and 58″ tall, it’s shorter and narrower than most competitors in its class, including Sole and Horizon, so it’s great for those with smaller spaces.
It also folds very easily with SpaceSaver design, which is a system they have had in place since we first started reviewing NordicTrack treadmills years ago.
You just lift it up and it locks into place. You can then wheel it away to where you want it. To use it again you simply hit the pedal and bring it back down. Very simple process.
Is the NordicTrack T Series 16 Right For You?
Who Should Buy It
The T16 is designed for buyers who like the T10 but simply want a little more. It isn’t a dramatically different treadmill, but the larger touchscreen and stronger motor are two upgrades you’ll appreciate every time you use it, especially if you plan to take advantage of iFIT or expect to run on a regular basis.
If you’re the type of person who typically buys the middle model because it offers a little more room to grow, the T16 fits that role well. It gives you a bit more performance and a better overall user experience without requiring the larger investment of a Commercial Series treadmill.
Who Shouldn't Buy It
The T16 probably isn’t the best choice if you’re deciding between it and one of NordicTrack’s Commercial Series treadmills.
While the T16 is a solid machine, the Commercial 1250 and especially the Commercial 1750 offer more meaningful upgrades, including larger running surfaces, stronger motors, decline capability, and a more premium overall experience. If your budget can stretch that far, we’d recommend taking a close look at those models before making a decision.
It’s also probably not the right fit if you’re looking for the most advanced treadmill NordicTrack offers. The X Series is built for buyers who want more than traditional walking and running workouts, with significantly steeper incline and decline ranges that make it a much better choice for hiking enthusiasts and anyone focused on hill training.
The T16 fills an important role in NordicTrack’s lineup, but it’s best suited for buyers who want a little more than the T10 without making the jump to one of the company’s premium models.
Our Take on the NordicTrack T Series 16
The T16 is one of those treadmills that’s easy to like, but a little harder to recommend without first looking at the current pricing. NordicTrack frequently discounts different models throughout the year, and we’ve often seen the gap between the T16 and the Commercial Series become surprisingly small.
That’s important because the T16 doesn’t try to reinvent the T10. Instead, it builds on it with a stronger motor and a larger touchscreen. Those are worthwhile upgrades, but whether they’re worth paying for really depends on what else is on sale at the time.
If the T16 is priced well below the Commercial 1250 or 1750, we think it’s a solid value. However, if the price difference narrows to just a few hundred dollars, we’d have a hard time passing up the additional features and performance offered by the Commercial Series.
That said, judged on its own merits, the T16 is a well-built treadmill that should satisfy the needs of most home users. It offers a comfortable running experience, a modern console, and the same engaging iFIT platform that’s helped make NordicTrack one of the biggest names in home fitness. Just be sure to compare prices before pulling the trigger.
