Overview
The ProForm Carbon T7 is one of the newest treadmills in the company’s lineup, first introduced in early 2020. It seems to have replaced the SMART 400i, the base model in the more affordable Performance Series.
This model has been a big seller at retail stores, and as such ProForm decided to feature it on their company site, along with some very competitive pricing.
The T7 is packed with great features such as a touch screen display, advanced cushioning, nice incline capability and unlimited selection of workouts.

Unlimited Interactive Workouts
The Carbon T7 comes with iFIT built right into the machine, which means you can access an endless library of on-demand workouts with trainers all over the world.
You can choose any studio and outdoor workout programs you like, even choose your favorite instructor, and the treadmill will automatically adjust speed and incline to match the workout you’ve chosen.
Google maps allow you to pick destinations all across the world, and it’s as if you are walking, jogging or running in those locations. Plus you can do workouts off the treadmill as well to target different muscle groups.
As of this ProForm Carbon T7 review the company was offering the treadmill with one free year of iFIT family membership. This may or may not be the case when you’re reading this review.
Enhanced Speed and Incline Capability
One of the main upgrades from the ProForm 400i treadmill that the Carbon T7 is replacing is the enhanced speed and incline.
The T7 comes with speeds up to 12 miles per hour and incline up to 12%, a nice jump up from the 10 mph and 10% incline on the previous base model 400i.
This is a nice upgrade from those who like to ramp it up a bit, jogging a bit faster and targeting more muscle groups as well as increasing the cardio benefit with a steeper incline.
Advanced Touch Screen Display
Even today it’s not common to find a touch screen display on a treadmill, especially on the more affordable models. For example the new base model ProForm City L6 treadmill has a very basic display.
However, the Carbon T7 has a beautiful 7″ Smart HD touch screen, similar to what you find in high end health clubs. This allows you to access iFIT and everything else conveniently, rather than have to rely on your tablet as on previous models.
Everything is available with the touch of a button, which makes your workouts that much more enjoyable.
(Note that the new up-level Carbon T10 has a 10″ Smart HD touch screen)
Roomy Running Deck With Advanced Cushioning
There’s plenty of room to stretch out on the ProForm Carbon T7. You get a 20″ x 55″ running deck, which is ample for walking and jogging. Compare that to 17″ x 45″ on the City L6 model and you can see just how ample that is.
It also has ProShox cushioning, as do the other treadmills in the Performance Series. This reduces impact on your joints, which means you won’t have the typical discomfort after your workout. You can work out longer and harder, without the fear of post training pain.
Other Great Features
Some other nice touches on the Carbon T7 are grip sensors for monitoring your heart rate, a capable 2.75 CHP motor, easy SpaceSaver folding design, dual 2″ speakers and a generous 300 lb. max weight capacity.
With ProForm you get a lot of capabilities at a very affordable, competitive price. This is what makes the brand very popular in the home gym market.
ProForm Carbon T7 Review - Conclusion
We like the new ProForm Carbon T7 here at Run Reviews, as it is an affordable treadmill with a ton of great features that you typically don’t get.
It has a nice touch screen display, increased incline and speed capability, heart rate monitoring, iFIT training and workouts, a well-cushioned deck and good max weight capacity.
Note that despite all of the great features, the Carbon T7, T10 and City L6 are still considered entry level treadmills.
If you’re more of a runner, or if more than one person will be using the treadmill, you might want to consider upgrading to one of the Pro Series models, which includes the very popular Pro 5000 treadmill.
These treadmills are built stronger and can stand up to more serious training.
However, if you’re not a very serious runner and you’re just looking for something to work out on and get into shape, the Performance Series will be perfect for you.

The compact space of the machines makes it a good addition to almost every home gym space. With the iFit membership of 3 years, we get the T7 for free which is a sweet deal in my opinion. The MediaTek chipset at its core makes it a reliable and durable machine for all.
Im so disappointed in this machine. waited 18 days for delivery, spent 3 hours putting it together… three days later on my 3rd workout, it went into a 12 incline and now it wont go back down. only solution is to send me a new motor? seriously?
Wish I had been patient and waited for the brand I originally wanted, to come back in stock. So glad I got the 4 year warranty. wondering how much I will actually be able to use this machine!
Thanks for sharing your experience. While most ProForm Carbon T7 owners don’t report incline failures, we’ve seen a handful of similar complaints over the years. The good news is that the warranty should cover the repair, though service experiences can vary depending on location.
