Get a Free Treadmill, Elliptical, Bike & Rowing Machine at ProForm
Wait what? I can get a free treadmill and other cardio equipment? For real? Believe it or not, it’s true. Now, it’s not entirely cost free as you do need to sign up for a membership. But, the machine itself is 100% free. Let me explain…
Free Treadmills & Other Cardio Equipment – How it All Works
Everyone wants something for free, especially these days when market is very volatile and many people have lost jobs due to the Corona Virus outbreak. For many people, spending $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 on a new treadmill is a big pill to swallow. And that’s understandable. Although exercising is crucial for overall wellness, there are other things that take priority in many peoples’ lives.
So how do you get around that? Well, ProForm, one of the largest cardio equipment brands in the world, has a solution. With their new ProForm + program, you can get a new treadmill, elliptical, indoor bike, HIIT Trainer or rowing machine for free with a 3-year membership to the company’s iFit program (You can read all about the iFit program here to see what it’s all about).
So far, the move has been very successful for the company, as people have been warming to the idea of a relatively small monthly payment rather than a large upfront expense. For example, ProForm is offering this deal on the new Carbon T7 treadmill, a very solid cardio machine with a lot of great features. Typically, this treadmill would cost around $2,000, but now you can get it for free.
Let’s break down the costs to see how good this deal is. An iFit membership currently costs $39 per month, and that includes unlimited on demand workouts, personal training sessions, Google maps of locations worldwide, workout tracking and sharing, sleep and nutrition recommendations, and much more.
If you take $39 a month, for 3 years, you’re at $1404 in total. So you’re saving over $500 if you had to buy the ProForm Carbon T7 treadmill flat out. Plus, you’re getting access to all of those great workout tools, something you really can’t get anywhere else. the iFit program is cheaper than most gym memberships, and it gives you a ton of features that a gym or health club doesn’t.
It seems like a very good deal, which is probably why it has caught on thus far. ProForm is also offering this deal on their other equipment as well. There’s the Carbon E7 elliptical, Studio Bike Pro, Carbon HIIT H7 Trainer and the 750R rowing machine. So regardless of what kind of cardio machine you are looking for, ProForm has a free option for you.
Are These Free Treadmills Any Good?
From the looks of it, the free treadmills, ellipticals and other machines seem to fall in the mid range category, i.e. they are a step up from the entry level models, but not as high-end as the top-of-the-line models. Let me explain that…
If we compare the Carbon T7, which is the base model in the Carbon Series, with the base models in the two other series, the Performance 400i and Smart Pro 2000, it falls right in between them as far as functionality and capability.
The ProForm SMART Performance 400i has a 2.0 CHP motor, 18″ x 50″ running belt, up to 10 mph speed and 10% incline. The ProForm Carbon T7 has a 2.75 CHP motor, 20″ x 55″ running belt, up to 12 mph speed and 12% incline. The ProForm SMART Pro 2000 has a 3.5 CHP motor, 22″ x 60″ running belt, up to 12 mph speed and -3% to 15% decline/incline.
It’s important to note that all of the ProForm treadmills with the SMART designation come with one year of iFit for free currently. So you can purchase one of those treadmills if you’d like, and try out the iFit program to see if it appeals to you. Interestingly, as of this writing you can get the ProForm Smart Pro 2000 treadmill with one free year of iFit for about the same price as the Carbon T7 free treadmill with 3 year iFit membership.
The Carbon T7 is more than capable and will be perfect for most users, but if you are more of a serious runner or there will be multiple people using the treadmill on a regular basis, then you might be better off with the Pro 2000 or one of the other Pro Series models.
What’s the Bottom Line on the Free ProForm Treadmills and Other Cardio Machines?
It’s definitely worth considering one of the free treadmills from ProForm or any of the other cardio equipment that they are offering at no cost. As of this moment it’s only one machine from each category, but that may change with time…especially if it’s something that’s working really well for the company.
Many brands, like NordicTrack (owned by the same company as ProForm, ICON Fitness), Peloton and Bowflex are getting into the monthly subscription game, as it gives them a steady source of income, as opposed to a one and done sale of a treadmill. It’s a successful model, which is why so many companies are trying to come up with their own version of iFit to accompany their cardio machines.
A lot of people need motivation to stick with their fitness programs, and iFit definitely gives you everything you need to stay on track. It seems that $39 a month is a small price to pay to keep you working out.
So take a look at the ProForm Carbon T7 if you’re in the market for a home treadmill, and see if it’s the right choice for you. We don’t know for sure how long this free treadmill deal is going to last, so you should definitely decide sooner than later.
