Bowflex BXT216 Review

Bowflex BXT216 - 2017 Treadmill

Overview

UPDATE: As of late 2020 it looks like the BXT216 has been discontinued. Check out the all new Bowflex Treadmill 10, which seems to be replacing both BXT models.

—————

The Bowflex BXT216 is one of two new cardio machines first introduced several years ago as part of the company’s re-entry into the traditional treadmill market. It’s a crowded market, but if the wild success of their TreadClimbers and Max Trainers proves anything, they should be able to capture some of the market with their new mid-priced lineup.

Bowflex BXT216 - Pros

Generously Sized Deck

The Bowflex BXT216 comes with a large runners deck with plenty of room to spread out. It’s 22″ wide and 60″ long, which is an impressive size in this price category. It also comes with an advanced CushionTech deck that minimizes impact on your knees and joints.

Heart Rate Monitoring

Unlike on many other models, the Bowflex treadmills give you both grip and wireless heart rate monitoring. So if you have a wireless chest strap monitor, you can get a more accurate reading and ensure that you are in your ideal heart rate zone for your entire workout.

Burn Rate Console

Just like on their TreadClimbers, the BXT216 has the Burn Rate console which shows you exactly how many calories you are burning per minute as you work out.

It also gives you target rates based on your inputs and fitness level, so you can challenge yourself from one workout to the next.

Bluetooth Tracking

The BXT216 gives you the ability of tracking your workouts via Bluetooth and syncing them with the Bowflex app.

This is great for those who want to keep tabs on their workouts and see how they are progressing from one week to the next. You can set goals for yourself and share your results with friends and family for motivation.

Other Great Features

The Bowflex BXT216 also comes with a powerful 4.0 CHP motor, a bright 9″ LCD display, premium hand rails, easy folding design, chrome accents, USB charger and a media rack.

Bowflex BXT216 - Cons

Warranty Could Be Better

The one feature that’s not ideal on the new Bowflex BXT216 is the warranty. You only get 15 years on the frame, as opposed to lifetime on other treadmills in this price range.

However, the 5 year parts and electronics warranty and 2 year labor coverage is quite good. So hopefully this will not be an issue, but we will keep tabs on it.

Bowflex BXT216 Review - Conclusion

The new Bowflex Results Series BXT216 has a number of great features including a strong motor, large deck, advanced cushioning, heart rate monitoring, 11 built in workout programs, the Burn Rate console and a 400 lb. max weight capacity.

It retails at a whopping $2,999, but if you can get in on sale for about $1799 it’s a very good deal for what you are getting.

If you want to save a few hundred dollars, take a look at the base BXT116 model, but keep in mind that it is not as advanced as the T216 treadmill. It’s worth the extra money to get the better model here.
