Will the ceiling sustain the weight of me (weighing 110 lbs) running on the treadmill?

Question: Can I put my Life Fitness Club Series Treadmill in a carpeted room upstairs? Will the ceiling sustain the weight of me (weighing 110 lbs) running on the treadmill? The only other place to put the Life Fitness is in my living room or dining room downstairs.

Answer: The treadmill weighs 431 Ibs/ 196 kg. This is heavy, but I don’t see why you could not place it upstairs. In general a house is built resistant and 550 lbs is a small value.

Still if you want to verify how much your house ceiling can support, you can check the accepted calculations at the local building supply or the library.

What I can recommend it to buy also a treadmill mat to place under the treadmill so you reduce vibrations.
