The Bowflex Treadclimber TC3000 and TC5000 have many common features.
If you want to buy one of these machines, you definitely need to check the other one as well so you can make a fair opinion on your options and needs.
The 2 models were launched a couple of years ago. They don’t have obsolete features as the first model in this series, TC1000, but they are not the latest models in this Series either (Mobia and TC5500 are).
A TC3000 costs $2,100 and it’s the closest model to Nautilus Mobia version ($2,000). Both models are built by the same manufacturer, but have a different approach in design and components’ quality.

Features
Display
On the 6 Led Display you can follow the workout progress:
– Time (minutes: seconds)
– Distance Display (miles, km)
– Approximate number of Calories (total and calories/minute)
– Heart Rate (beats per minute)
– Speed (miles per hour or km per hour)
– Climb (total steps)
The display is very similar to Bowflex TC5000.
At the end of the workout, the following info will be displayed on the console: time total calories burned, total steps and total distance.
But all workout info will be deleted when you press Stop.
Workout Setting Cylinders
The Cylinders have 12 levels of intensity.
Before beginning to exercise, you must set the cylinders level that corresponds to your weight and fitness level manually. Read the Manual for detailed info.
This treadclimber version has included the Workout Levels Select option in the console. It matches the Cylinders difficulty level you set up and it helps calculating the number of calories burned with higher approximation.
Workouts
Before you begin you set the cylinders levels, manually, as detailed above.
Next, at the beginning of any workout, you will insert your weight and choose the Workout Level. 12 is the hardest and 1 is the easiest. Weight value will be remembered for new exercises. You change it just if necessary.
You can do 3 types of exercises, but the Treadclimber workout is the most efficient
Treadmill workout: lock the treadles and start using the treadmill workout. Always set Workout Level to 0 in this mode.

Stair Stepper Workout: for this workout you select the Workout Level feature presented above. Then just start using the treadles. You don’t control speed in any way.
Treadclimber Workout: (combination between stair stepping and moving belts)
For this workout you confirm weight value and Workout Level in the console. Use the speed control if you feel the need to.
Remote Heart Monitor
Configuration mode
Same as on TC5000, from this mode you choose the metric (MET) or the English (EngL) mode.

Conclusions
The Bowflex Treadclimber TC3000 is a good piece of equipment for weight loss workouts. Our experience on this machine was good but not impressive. Our expectations are high when we pay $2,100 for a machine and TC3000 didn’t reach all of them.
But, when we compared them with its competitors (Treadclimber TC1000, TC5000, TC5500 and Mobia) the results weren’t so bad.
Like all treadclimbers, Bowflex TC3000 is built for efficient weight loss workouts and this is where the TreadClimber Workout helps you the best.
Still, this machine is built for small people, not tall.
Using the treadclimber as a treadmill is a basic exercise. TC3000 is not made for running, just for walking exercises (usually recommended for warm-ups and cool-downs).
We appreciate that the Console allows including your weight and that it offers exercises based on each person’s fitness level. This is a great feature, maybe the best of all.
Still, components are not up to what you get in 2010. The machine was released around 2006 and since then many upgrades have been included in components quality. The warranty reflects this fact so you can decide if this is a machine for you from the start. Based on our experience, it seems to resist to around 2 years of usage, which it can work if you just want to lose weight. After you finish losing weight, you will need more challenge and there are plenty of options to offer you satisfaction.
Now, if you want a better product at the same price, Nautilus released Mobia which is a strong competitor for TC3000.
We received many bad reviews about Bowflex Treadclimbers, this version included but our experience with TC3000 din not put us face to face with a disaster.
The machine is too heavy to be assembled by you only. The same applies for moving it around. You need to call assistance to help you with the first process.
Then, you need to read the manual very carefully because it includes valuable maintenance tips, like for example you have only 2 options to change the Cylinders level (to 12 clockwise, to 1 counterclockwise).
You have to change the Cylinders Levels, but not for every workout. Only when you improve your fitness level you need to increase the difficulty. The same applies to the Console command, but to update the info in the Console is pretty easy.
Because not many people may know when it’s time to increase difficulty we also recommend entering the Bowflex-Club. This club is online and you enter with a subscription. You will be in communication with a personal trainer to offer guidance and tips for your workouts, this way using the maximum of what this Treadclimber can offer.
To sum our conclusion, as mentioned above, this machine is made for small people with high ambitions of losing weight. If you take proper care of it, TC3000 can last a long period of time.
