Features

Display Info
For the 2012 F3 treadmill, Life Fitness created 2 different consoles: Track console & Go console. The first provides enhanced customization, tracking options and entertainment features. This console is also available to purchase with the F3 treadmill (for $3000), but we will review it with another model from Life Fitness.

The Go console offers 13 workout programs, a wireless heart rate chest strap, 2 user profiles, 1 custom workout/ user profile, Energy Saver mode and Race mode.

The 4″ x 6″ LCD with blue background and white characters offers feedback on calories, distance, speed, incline, time, heart rate, target heart rate, METs, pace. The Low/ Med/ High button changes the incline to a preset value. The Walk/ Jog/ Run button changes the speed to a preset value.

Heart Rate Info:
As all the other treadmills launched by Life Fitness, this treadmill has a built-in heart rate monitoring system, the hand pulse sensors. You also get the wireless telemetry heart rate monitoring system.

Workouts

With the Go console, you’ll be getting Manual, Random, Hill, EZ Incline/ Resistance, Goal workouts, 2 Custom workouts, Time-based Goal training and Distance-based Goal training.

<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-2953019735708873";

With the Race mode, users can outrun themselves against a computer-simulated pacer. The Cool down mode is based on specific time, incline and heart rate and makes sure you return to a proper heart rate level at the end of the workout. You can also activate the Warm-up mode, 2 user profiles, Go system 1-Touch Quick Start and On-the-Fly programming that allows you to surf between programs without restarting or losing the your current workout info.

Energy Saver Mode- included

Sound System- not included

iPod Compatibility- not included

Workout fan- not included

Conclusions

The 2012 F3 treadmill is a comeback of the former F3. It gathers power, diversity and insured safety, and also it is compatible with 2 different consoles, each of them offering its own share of benefits for light joggers and runners.

And since we’ve been talking about the Go console, I must say its main problem is that there is also a Track console, not much more expensive but definitely more attractive.

Pros

Starting with the motor, it goes without saying that the F3 has the power to move users forward. And it’s fairly quiet, I must say. But even so, it’s not an advanced motor to keep up with ultra runners.

Also average is the running space. Taller users won’t be happy with this treadmill as it cannot sustain a longer stride. But the cushioning works great, which is one of our priorities and I’m sure we’re no rare specimen.

The Go display is easy to read and workout feedback is easy to follow. Plus, it pretty much covers every piece of info you may want to be aware of during your performance. The workouts selection is not dismissible, definitely not. Actually, more than 50% of the users may find themselves satisfied with the Go package.

But thinking about it, I can’t help feeling that spending $300-400 more on the Track console is a much better deal. More workouts, more functionality, more programming options.

But the warranty is OK. It’s satisfying. Definitely not a drawback.

Main attraction

I can’t really say there is a main attraction worth mentioning. It’s more of a list of pros, backed-up by some disadvantages. It’s a matter of choice actually, whether you find this treadmill appropriate for your current needs or not.

Drawbacks

The main drawback of this treadmill is the existence of a more advanced console, the Track console, not much more expensive. After all, what’s $300-400 next to $2600, or maybe $2300 when on sale?

Our conclusion is that we only recommend the 2012 F3 Treadmill with the Go console to users who don’t need any type of entertainment and who are very clear about the maximum of performance they are pursuing. Aside this feature, this unit helps you change speed or weight values easily by pressing the Increase and Decrease buttons. These buttons also allow you to surf through multiple options.

The Calories Burned indicator shows the total no of burned calories and the Climb Indicator tracks your distance in miles.

The G.O. Coach display shows the weekly progress toward the 90 minute goal for 1 user. Remember that this display is blank in Manual TreadClimber workout mode.

The Time display also shows the weight value for the G.O. Coach user and the Manual Workout mode in LBS or KG.

This system works as a cushioning system. It absorbs your steps and cushions your joints, minimizing overall fatigue and reducing muscle strain. The closer the dial on the Hydraulic Cylinder is set to the MAX setting, the more intense the workout.

Workouts

This unit offers 2 workout modes: G.O. Coach Workout mode and Manual mode.

The first provides one user a weekly, goal oriented workout: 30 min/ 1 workout, 3 workouts/ week. If you plan to work out more than 90 min/ week, it would be helpful to track your workouts or establish a weekly workout routine. It’s indicated that only one user should workout in this mode.

The Manual mode allows the machine to be used without affecting the G.O. Coach weekly goal. Other users may work out on this unit, when activating this mode.

To begin a Manual workout, make sure the console is in the Manual TreadClimber Mode. If the display is blank, press Start. For either workout mode, the user can program his/ her weight by using the Increase/ Decrease buttons.

Conclusions

The Bowflex TreadClimber TC10 is a motivating machine that can get any exerciser, be it beginner or elite, on the treadles. Needless to say, it offers more efficient weight loss workouts, compared to the treadmill alone. And it’s not only the technical description, it’s what we feel while working out on this type of machine. Still, some drawbacks may keep you thinking whether it’s worth the $2200 or not. It only depends on what you’re looking for in a treadclimber.

Pros

The TC10 is literally a treadclimber. More than a treadmill, the TC10 has two treadles, which means it is first and foremost created for walking. You have up to 4 mph in hand. But we’ve been wondering, is jogging on the TC10 as efficient as walking? We say it is. And it’s due to the steep inclined plane that you can get more outputs.

Moreover, you will never have to worry about your safety. It’s amazing actually how this machine keeps you injury-free all the way through your workout. It’s quite an advantage, I’d say. And it’s due to the Bowflex patented system that all their treadclimbers mark 5 stars in safety.

The major advantage of the treadclimber over a treadmill resides in the compact design. Even more, the unit is very stable, so you should have no worries, in case you are a taller user. The frame is made of steel, so safety is once again guaranteed. And it can hold water bottles or any type of reading material, which for some is a dismissible trait, but for others is a key feature.

The Bowflex treadclimber TC 10 doesn’t occupy too much space. It also requires some assembling, but it’s OK, it means that it’s somewhat more portable than other machines. Remember, there are wheels you can use to get it from one place to another. (And it’s easier than with the previous version).

Workouts are first of all highly efficient. While training on the steep incliner, a walker will get the same results as a runner, while keeping away from injury and stress. At full tilt, the TC10 is also a great way of losing the extra weight, much quicker than on the regular treadmill.

Main Attraction

The main advantage of this treadclimber is the G.O. Coach technology. It sets the goal for 3 workouts of 30 min each and then it tracks progress. But only for 1 user profile!

Highly attractive is the Hydraulic Workout Cylinder, a system that keeps your body injury-free throughout the toughest workout.

Drawbacks

But listen to this: there are no preset workouts, no entertainment such as iPod port or Internet connection and it is not made for running. And top of it all, the warranty is somehow short.

And don’t even think about monitoring your heart rate, because you can’t.

All in all, if you need motivational entertainment to keep you on the treadles, this is not what you’re looking for.

Also, if you’re keen on programmable features, you should look another way. If you’re an avid jogger or runner, once again, being here won’t serve you any good.

But if you are a walker looking to stay fit or lose the extra weight, you should consider this treadclimber which will offer a much better workout than the compact treadmill.

Conclusions

The PaceMaster Gold Elite VR is by far a good treadmill. The quality, functionality and tons of workouts offset the drawbacks of cheaper PaceMaster treadmills. But as everything else in this life, it all comes for a price.

Pros

First, let’s rewind. The Gold Elite VR and Gold Elite Fold-up VR are the same thing, only the Fold-up version, well, folds. Folding options are always a catch, especially when the treadmill does it on its own. The Gold Elite Fold-up VR does it successfully, but only if you afford to pay the extra $400. Sounds like a big deal, but it can keep you far away from spinal injuries.

The Gold Elite VR beats the quality and functionality of many other treadmills in the same price range.

Intensity is guaranteed by the powerful motor. Not only is it powerful, but also sturdy and moreover, it doesn’t entail the annoying squeeze of most powerful treadmills. We are avid runners, so you see, we like to push the limits really hard. And we did. Not only we got intense workout, but we were as good as new once the workout was over.

We do like to push it hard on the running belt, but we also like to be safe while doing it. The cushion system relieved any worries we might have had. We are as good as new every time we get off this treadmill.

The running surface is more than enough for every beginner or professional runner to do his thing. Not only is it wide and long above average, but also the medium density fireboard with phenolic surface will extend the deck’s life.

It’s been a while since I saw so many workouts into one single console. Not only the workout range is impressively wide, but you also get to choose from 9 intensity levels. Care to customize your perfect workout? Knock yourself out with up to 3 customizable workouts. We have, and not only it’s been fun, but also we got just what we needed. If there are more of you who want to try this console out, worry not. Up to 4 users can benefit from this machine.

If you’re into fat burn training, rest assured you’ll get just the workout you need, because you get to enter your weight and age. So you see, not only you’ll be shedding the extra pounds consistently, but also you’ll get accurate feedback.

Main Attractions

This treadmill proved its capacity even from the start, but the Express buttons are the cherry on the cake. Not having to tediously press speed and incline buttons every time you want to alter the values is bliss for any avid runner. With Express buttons, speed and incline adjustments are 1 press away.
If you don’t do well in the motivation chapter, the Personal Trainer may come in handy. And not for only 1 workout, but for 6 of them.

At the end of the workout, you get a fitness evaluation. It may be just words to you, but believe you me, evaluation is like a teacher telling you you’re doing fine, you only have to push it a little bit more.

Drawbacks

This treadmill may make a hole in your pocket, unless you have $2500 as spare change. Still, when it comes to treadmills, it’s recommended to buy a quality unit for some extra dollars than to settle for a cheaper one that may break sooner than you think. Sure, you’ll buy another one, probably as cheap as the one that just broke. What about using all the money for a quality machine from the start?

Although, truth being said, you may find a treadmill as good as this one, with a lifetime motor warranty.
To conclude, the Gold Elite VR is a good, nice-looking treadmill that can make you reach your wildest runner’s dreams. But only if you can shed the extra bucks. More details about these two models can be found here and here.

Conclusions

With C 1250, NordicTrack proves once again they deserve all the recognition they get. It is a quality treadmill, widely featured, with advanced cushioning and the tip of the iceberg, an internet browser powered by Android. But is it really worth the $ 3000?

Pros
C 1250 is built to support taller and heavier users that will find the lengthy running surface and the powerful motor quite attractive. Any company that respects itself will add advanced cushioning to an oversized motor, so you see, you will be able to work out intensely while remaining injury-free. Any unit that can do that is worth looking at.

There’s nothing more tedious than pressing buttons during hard workouts. This is our belief. If you agree, than you’ll find the 1-Touch feature quite interesting. Any display or console changes you want to perform during workout, simply touch the proper button. It makes workouts so easy and it’s definitely worth the extra cash.

The cool thing about the fan is that it speeds up as you speed up, you only have to activate the auto mode. This feature is great to cool off your core when you reach the intensity peak.

If you’re the entertainment kind, you should know that speakers rate well as far as quality goes.

Also, if you’re the iFit kind, you’ll be happy to know that this console features Google Maps, which means you can run throughout the world at any time. We love Google Maps, it’s really exciting running throughout the Grand Canyon whenever we feel like it.

Main attraction
As you know by now, this unit features an internet browser powered by Android. It’s not the novelty technology that really got us excited, but the fact that we can joggle workouts with distractions. We don’t do it often, but sometimes we like reading our emails while shedding the extra pounds. Sure, entertainment and intense workouts don’t really go together. But as long as you stay devoted to your goal, Android is a cool feature.
And of course, let’s not forget about the Google Maps feature that iFit Live Workouts offers.

Drawbacks
As far as functionality goes, we can’t argue. We’ve only been pleasantly surprised by this machine. It works amazingly well, looks nice and folding is easy. Sure, it’s a heavy unit, so don’t be a superhero.

But the main drawback is that it costs way too much. Yes, it’s a machine worthy of the extra dollars, but still, it’s a price too high. Especially since NordicTrack itself made the Elite 9500, which is about $ 1000 less and, last but not least, has decline options.

We believe the C 1250 is a good purchase, but only on sale. Otherwise, check out other models from NordicTrack. For more info you can visit the official page.

Conclusions

If you’re reading this review, it must be because you’re looking for an amazing running experience. You’ve come to the right place, as the Pacemaster Premiere EXT is really the treadmill you need for advanced workouts. You won’t have the entertainment and internet options, but if you’re a serious runner, you don’t really need them. We highly recommend this treadmill.

Pros

Pacemaster Premiere EXT is by far a great, high quality treadmill built for avid runners who are permanently looking to outrun themselves. The running surface is large and long enough to support heavier and taller users, so you won’t be limited in any way.

We were surprised by the sturdy and powerful motor. We thought it would rattle and shake and make annoying noise. But it didn’t. This motor can back up the most intense workouts available on the console, while remaining silent and still. It was quite impressive.

Then, there is the cushioning system that is as efficient as the motor. We really pushed ourselves on the Premiere EXT, and at the end of the workout, we felt no stress or pain or anything.

When it comes to workouts, this is the unit of any runner’s dreams. For weight loss, there are 4 workouts you can use to shed the extra pounds and tone your muscles. You also get 5 target heart rate workouts, and you know what that means: super intense cardio!

Of course, you get to enter weight and age, incline, speed and target heart rate.

As you figured it out by now, there are 3 customizable workouts that you can manage to match your exact requirements and, last but not least, 6 personal trainer workouts. So you see, you may not have the entertainment, but you do have the motivational support. This machine will keep you wired in a consistent fitness program.

Main attraction

We like Pacemaster because it has cool features that make workouts so dynamic and interesting, like the Virtual Reality Courses, Heart Rate Performance Review or Fitness Evaluator. It’s great having the opportunity to review your performance so that you have a clear idea on how you’re improving your workouts.

We can only conclude that Pacemaster Premiere EXT is one of the best treadmills on the market. It has the power, the support, functionality, motivational feedback and innovative features that will only keep you running. For $ 3000, Premiere EXT is an excellent purchase. You may also find it on sale, so make sure you have your eyes wide open.

Conclusions

The TR5000i is a treadmill that we highly recommend to running enthusiasts. This is a machine built for high performance and is backed up with proper cushioning and features that keep workouts fluent and injury-free.

Pros

As all other commercial quality treadmills, this one comes with a generous running surface. Either taller or heavier, you’ll get the best use out of the TR5000i. And of course, the belt provides cushioning and support for the entire workout, no matter how long or how difficult. Then, there is the display that makes it easy for users to stay connected to specific workout feedback.

The best part of this treadmill is that you get to enter your age, weight, height and sex. This is good news not only because the console helps you engage in workouts that suit your specific needs, but also you receive accurate feedback on your performance. This is a great advantage for users who are determined to lose weight.

We are most satisfied with the preset programs this treadmill features. When we came across this treadmill, the first thing that got our attention was the Sports Training workouts. This is a great way of increasing sports performance. If you’re training for a marathon, this machine is the one you need.

It’s a 5 star machine in all departments: endurance, fitness, cardio, weight loss, basically everything a runner, especially a professional, needs.

It’s a non-folding machine, and it couldn’t have been otherwise with a unit of this power. And it comes with a killer warranty.

Main attraction

What’s cool about this treadmill is that the belt stops when you stop running. Any accident that may happen, don’t worry because this treadmill comes with the Intelli-Guard safety measure.

During your workouts, information is copied on the USB. You go the Lifespan official website, log into your account since you get the free Lifespan Fitness Club membership after purchase, and you download the info. You’ll get reports on your performance and you’ll download customized workouts.

Drawbacks

There is none, except the fact that you can’t fold it.

For $2400, the TR5000i is one of the best buys you can make as an avid runner. You also can check the official page for additional details.

Conclusions

With no ups and downs, the CT9.1 is a treadmill that we do not, I repeat we do not recommend. It has its advantages, but the Livestrong 13.0T is almost half the price and has more pros than the CT9.1.

Pros

The motor is powerful and helps you keep a fast pace. But the LS 13.0T has a more powerful motor and allows users to outdo themselves.

The belt is reasonable. We felt comfortable during our workouts. But a heavier user can’t take advantage of this unit, unlike the LS 13.0T that has a longer belt, therefore more comfortable.

The display is user-friendly and makes it easy for us to check our feedback, especially since there is a Change Display button that allows you to check the desired information.

There are Speed and Incline quick keys, so it’s easy to alter speed and incline during tough workouts, which is always an advantage. The array of workouts combines many types of challenges, depending on what your needs are.

We must admit, working out on the CT9.1 is quite intense and we feel we’re making progress. And the cushioning system does its thing, so our bodies feel like new at the end. Still, Livestrong LS 13.0T has 2 more workouts, which can make the difference.

Main attraction

The eTrack feature is quite helpful. It’s effective to monitor your progress over time. It makes you more aware of your performance and motivates you.

Drawbacks

But on the other hand, the LS 13.0T has a log of its own. It’s called Livetrack Interactive System, and not only it tracks your overall performance, but also allows you to download it on the Livestrong website.

Another problem is that it’s extremely heavy, so you better do a month of training before taking this unit out of the car and into your house.

Livestrong 13.0T is $ 1100 cheaper and has a more powerful motor, a larger belt, more workouts and more user-friendly features.

All in all, we don’t recommend this treadmill, especially since it’s guaranteed for only 1 year on parts and labor. Livestrong 13.0T is much better, much cheaper and more aesthetic, which does count. For other details check the Horizon website

Conclusions

Life Fitness F1 Smart is just what its name says, a smart treadmill. Although its price may put you back, rest assured you’ll be getting what you’re paying for. This widely featured machine combines power with efficiency, allowing users to benefit from personalized programs. And not to forget, Life Fitness didn’t neglect aesthetics when they made this unit. This machine is built for intensive users who’re looking to push their own limits.

Pros

If powerful and sturdy is what you’re looking for, you should definitely check out the F1 Smart. No matter how far you want to go with this unit, rest assured it can handle it. This model is also innovative and environment friendly. When the treadmill is turned on, but not in use, the Energy Saver feature will minimize the use of energy with up to 90%. This is quite a serious thing with great benefits.

We knew this machine was sturdy even before we purchased it, but weren’t quite sure what the cushion system was all about. Now we do and we must say we’re quite satisfied. The shock absorption system reduces impact with up to 30%, which means our joints, knees, ankles, thighs, they all remain intact even when the toughest workout has ended.

The preprogrammed workouts gave us a serious push. Since you can easily alter speed and incline during workout, we tried to increase our performance day by day. First of all, this machine can back your darkest fitness desires, which is just great, and second of all, it’s amazing how your body remains totally safe.

You get to listen to your iPod music, read anything you want on the Reading Rack and fold the whole thing.
And to back everything up, this treadmill has a convincing warranty, although the motor is only guaranteed for 10 years, which is kind of a drawback.

Main Attraction

Innovative features like Energy Saver and Virtual Trainer are the main focus. They combine efficiency with motivation and they help save the environment, at least for a while.

Drawbacks

As said before, the motor is only backed up by a 10 year warranty. Then, keep in mind that this machine hasn’t got a fan for you to cool off and assembling it is not the easiest thing.

Other than that, this is a worthwhile machine that we warmly recommend to anyone looking to reach new horizons in running. If you need addional details you can go an visit the official page

Speed Intervals and Peak Intervals increase strength and endurance by alternating speeds throughout the program. They involve the heart and other muscles.

Weight Loss workout increases speed and incline and keeps you in your fat burning zone.

Rolling Hills exercise is a challenge. It reproduces running up and down hills to increase stamina and muscle tone. In addition, it helps losing weight.

Similarly, Mountain Climb simulates mountain climbing and descending. It offers intense cardio.

Custom 1 and 2 allows you to save your workouts and personal info. You can enter weight, time, speed and incline. When using a saved program, you can change incline and speed, but you won’t be allowed to save the changes.

THR Zone adjusts incline automatically to keep users in their heart rate zone. It is a time-based workout. HR Intervals sets your target heart rate. It offers intense workout with alternating recovery bursts. It is a goal-based workout.

Conclusions

The CT12.1 is a sleek treadmill, there’s no doubt about it. But we don’t recommend it for the present price of $2,600. Unless you get your hands on major sales, go for other models such as Livestrong LS12.9T and Livestrong LS16.9T. For $1,200 or $1,700, you get more features and you won’t break the bank to purchase it.

Pros

This treadmill has the power and sturdiness. The motor is built to get you through high intensity and maximum incline. No worries for taller users, since the running surface is above average. Not only is this deck comfortable for taller users, but also for heavier ones, up to 350 lbs/ 159 kg. Up to now, all good.

The display is designed for easy usage. It’s easy for us to alter incline and speed and follow our performance during and after workout.

For user’s benefit, CT12.1 comes with dual heart rate reading system. You can use the handgrips or the wireless chest strap. The advantage is that the chest strap comes with the machine. It would have been absurd not to, given the $2,600 price.

It’s a good thing the chest strap is included, because this model incorporates serious cardio workouts. THR Zone and HR Intervals gave us serious cardiovascular training, while maintaining us in our target heart rate zone. Having the fan to cool off whenever we felt like is an advantage. Intensity can get so high that cooling off is most necessary.

You get to insert your weight, so Weight Loss programs help you do the job right. And the warranty is satisfactory.

Main Attraction

The CT12.1 includes an eTRAK Fitness Journal that helps users keep track of their overall performance. This feature is advantageous because being permanently updated on your progress, helps you increase efficiency until you reach your goals.

Drawbacks

The price is the major drawback. It is too expensive, especially given the Livestrong treadmills . (produced by the same manufacturer). For other info visit the manufacturer website

Conclusions

NordicTrack has succeeded in building a long-lasting brand notoriety, and it figures. From our point of view this model sustains the good reputation of this brand. BUT only if you pay $1,500 on it (not $3,000 as marketed on the NordicTrack website).

See below a detailed report about the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill.

For starters, the motor is ranked among the best that NordicTrack has on stock. It can sustain prolonged, heavy training and it works quietly. Then, there is the running surface, which is above average. Runners and joggers will make most use of this treadmill, no matter what height you have. A plus is the maximum 15% incline that is a little higher than most treadmills have to offer (12%).

The full-color display is a detail that immediately got our attention. Mostly because it is large enough to make feedback easy to read during hard training. Another great thing about the display is that next to the ordinary information, you get additional feedback such as a ¼ mile track, time to complete 1 lap at current speed, current lap number, remaining time, approximate number of calories burned/ hour, number of vertical feet and pace in minutes/ mile. For us it’s been great to access all these details at the same time. It has made our workouts more effective. And the colors are really cool during iFit workouts.

And talking about iFit, this is what the buzz is all about. All you have to do is make sure you can connect the treadmill to a wireless network. Basically, it gives you the opportunity to run or walk on any running trail from all over the world. The treadmill simulates terrain workouts by changing the incline during every workout automatically. It’s really fun to try.

iFit workouts are also customizable . Plus you have access to useful information about your fitness activity and nutrition. It took as 20 minutes to set up our iFit account and we’ve made much use of it.

Don’t worry about safety. The cushioning system absorbs up to 33% of the shock, so you won’t have to worry about the injuries on heels, knees and hips while engaging in one of the 30 preset workouts. Nevertheless this is not a reason to skip warm up and cool down.

Don’t forget about the Goal Custom Workout Center where you are free to set up time, calorie goal and distance so that you create your own workout.

And when the going gets tough, just plug in your MP3 player or iPod or any other player and hit the deck while enjoying the clear sound offered by the speakers.

Plus we like the folding options.

OK, the advantages are crystal clear. Still, there are several aspects you may want to consider. First, wireless connection is imperative, or else the iFit mode will be of no use to you.

Then, keep in mind that you can’t insert your own weight or age values, so you only receive an estimate of the calories you burn. And thirdly, the Commercial 1750 is a fit to be used by around 3 people.

The warranty package is convenient. 5 years for parts is a good deal.

All in all, this is an impressive $ 1,500 machine, powerful and quiet, with attractive features that will surely make an impression on you. If you need more details about this model you can check this page.
