Conclusions
The ProForm 790T is a widely featured treadmill. This is a model best suited for users focused on weight loss. Still, in spite of the qualities it brings, we only recommend it when on sale. Otherwise, the 790T is in serious competition with other brands like Sole, Livestrong or Nordictrack that offer more features for lower prices.
The first thing that got our attention was the silent motor. It doesn’t have the most powerful motor, but it’s more than enough for what it’s meant to do, that is help you lose weight. The cool thing about it is that it incorporates an internal fan that makes workouts smooth, silent and can run for a longer time.
Then, there was the adjustable cushioning. We don’t always feel comfortable on certain treadmills, although they integrate high-quality cushioning systems. The plus with the 790 T is that you have the option to tailor the cushioning to your own body posture and your current workout. With an easy slide forward or backward, our training became definitely more comfortable than on standard treadmills.

We like this treadmill because it allows us to choose out of a variety of weight loss workouts. Weight loss was our goal from the first place, and this machine gives us just the intensity we want. That is because you can choose out of several options, according to the amount of calories you want to burn. You get fitness and intense cardio, since you can raise incline up to 12%.
If you’re thinking of purchasing this treadmill, it must be because you are also focused on losing the extra pounds. The benefit you get is that you can weigh up to 325 lbs/ 148 kg. And if you do weigh this much, this treadmill would make a good purchase.
It has the workouts, it offers the comfort, safety and adjustability and it also keeps you motivated with the sound system it embeds. Even better if you’re an iPod fan.
And when you’re looking for a tougher challenge, go for the iFit card workouts. Note that this machine doesn’t offer an iFit Live Module (the latest version of the iFIT workouts).
The display makes training easy and comfortable. Its structure allows you to easily read feedback, which is important especially when workouts get really tough.
On the other hand, it doesn’t have a fan for users to cool off when the going gets tough, which is quite weird for a ProForm machine.
The warranty isn’t that enticing either. 2 years for parts and 1 year for labor is less than what you’d expect from a $ 1300 treadmill.
All in all, going for the 790T is a good decision only on Black Friday or other sales.
There’s also the ProForm 1050T that is slightly more evolved than the 790T. It usually sells for $1,600, but if you find it on sales, for a price lower than $1,300, it’s definitely worth considering the Proform 790T.
