ProForm treadmills are extremely popular for two main reasons: features and price. For the money, you can’t find another brand with as many extras as ProForm offers.
The brand is part of giant fitness manufacturer Icon Health and Fitness, which also makes NordicTrack, Healthrider, FreeMotion, Reebok, Weider, Weslo, Gold’s Gym and the iFIT workout technology.
At the beginning, ProForm sold only treadmills. A few years later, they added to their catalog ellipticals, incline trainers, exercise bikes and strength equipment, all for residential use.

ProForm has stepped it up in quality over the last few years, yet have kept their prices very competitive. They compete with NordicTrack, their sister company, as well as Horizon, but people tend to like them more because they feature the iFIT technology only currently available on ICON brand treadmills.
The starting price for a new machine is around $600 and you get a good amount of features and capabilities.
In general, all Icon Fitness treadmills come with many workouts, ProForm included. Additionally, you have the option to use the iFIT compatibility, which gives access to more professional trainer-designed workouts that can also be personalized.
Folding Option with Easy Lift Assist
All new models have the folding option with Easy Lift Assist, which makes folding much easier now than it was a few years ago. Now the folding can be done by one person. Three years ago 2 people were needed.
You now receive a better warranty for parts and labor. For some models, you get up to 5 years for parts and 2 years for labor. The minimum you receive is 1 year for parts and labor, and this applies to the $600 treadmills.
Not for Heavy Running:
Most ProForm treadmills have the advantage of being quite affordable, but it comes with some loss in product quality. A $600 product will not keep up with heavy running, but, at the same time, it can easily support walking and light jogging.
However, their new high-end series, the PRO and the Boston Marathon treadmills, are built for runners, but do come with a hefty price tag that might render them out of reach for some customers.
