The LifeSpan TR1200-DT5 treadmill comes assembled right out if the box, and the desk itself is relatively easy to put together.

This treadmill does require lubrication every few months, even if you don’t use it much. Application is very easy however.

Display info

The highlight of the TR1200 DT5 console is not necessarily the diversity of readouts- distance traveled, calories burned, time you’ve been working out and steps you’ve taken, it’s not even the buttons, which are all pretty basic.

Rather, it’s the solid construction, the compact yet functional design, and the ease of use.

Some other key features turn the DT5 into a must-look-at if not a must-have treadmill:

Intelli-Guard

This built in safety feature allows you to step off the treadmill belt at any time during your workout. The belt will instantly stop which will keep risk of injury to a minimum.

Intelli-Step

This is a great feature which we are really into. Sometimes we simply enjoy a nice walk at a normal pace, but we also want to have an accurate, recordable feedback on our performance, so having a system that counts your steps according to your weight, walking style and pace and also usage characteristics adds another benefit to this already valuable machine.

Desktop height adjustments

A feature that is as important as the heavy duty workspace. Why spend money on a desk treadmill if you can’t adjust it to make yourself more comfortable?

Users from 4’10” to 6’8″ can easily make the most out of DT5, adjusting it as much as they please and the desktop table will remain motionless.

And here’s the kicker: the desktop frame is not attached to the treadmill…basically you don’t have to worry about your computer, your printer, your drink because they will not be affected by the movement of treadmill.

Bluetooth Capability

You can’t work in an office that doesn’t have Bluetooth, can you? New Bluetooth capability allows you to track your workouts simply by waving you smart phone over the DT5.

Now you can keep tabs on your progress and even share your results on social media or with family and friends.

Audible Safety Alert

This is an audible alert that notifies the user when changes are being made such as the start of the treadmill or speed adjustments.

Conclusions

Simply put, the DT5 is was another victory for Lifespan, and is our favorite of the TR1200-DT Series.

As many of you readers probably do, we work from home, so having the opportunity to take all of our calls, type all of our emails and do our busywork while walking is like a dream come true.

With so many tasks to perform, it’s not outrageous to wonder: can this treadmill actually deliver so much satisfaction? The truth is it can. The desktop surface is unmovable, so the greatest challenge of this treadmill should be least of your worries.

It’s a heavy duty surface also, therefore anything you need on your desk, including your favorite gourmet coffee, you can have it and never worry about stability.

It’s a great thing that users from 4’10” to 6’8″ can effortlessly benefit from all the features this treadmill has to offer, and you don’t really have to be aware of everything at any time.

What I mean by this is that one may get so into whatever newsletter you’re writing or the most important phone call of the week that you may forget you are in fact on a movable surface, so accidents may happen, injuries may occur, but not on the DT5 due to an Audible system that alerts you every time the belt stops or speed is adjusted.

Working out on DT5 has been a great experience: you can actually get all your work done while getting a solid workout in. It’s without a doubt one of the best treadmill desks on the market today.
