Conclusions

The TR5000i is a treadmill that we highly recommend to running enthusiasts. This is a machine built for high performance and is backed up with proper cushioning and features that keep workouts fluent and injury-free.

Pros

As all other commercial quality treadmills, this one comes with a generous running surface. Either taller or heavier, you’ll get the best use out of the TR5000i. And of course, the belt provides cushioning and support for the entire workout, no matter how long or how difficult. Then, there is the display that makes it easy for users to stay connected to specific workout feedback.

The best part of this treadmill is that you get to enter your age, weight, height and sex. This is good news not only because the console helps you engage in workouts that suit your specific needs, but also you receive accurate feedback on your performance. This is a great advantage for users who are determined to lose weight.

We are most satisfied with the preset programs this treadmill features. When we came across this treadmill, the first thing that got our attention was the Sports Training workouts. This is a great way of increasing sports performance. If you’re training for a marathon, this machine is the one you need.

It’s a 5 star machine in all departments: endurance, fitness, cardio, weight loss, basically everything a runner, especially a professional, needs.

It’s a non-folding machine, and it couldn’t have been otherwise with a unit of this power. And it comes with a killer warranty.

Main attraction

What’s cool about this treadmill is that the belt stops when you stop running. Any accident that may happen, don’t worry because this treadmill comes with the Intelli-Guard safety measure.

During your workouts, information is copied on the USB. You go the Lifespan official website, log into your account since you get the free Lifespan Fitness Club membership after purchase, and you download the info. You’ll get reports on your performance and you’ll download customized workouts.

Drawbacks

There is none, except the fact that you can’t fold it.

For $2400, the TR5000i is one of the best buys you can make as an avid runner. You also can check the official page for additional details.

Conclusions

As a compact treadmill, the TR100 treadmill has features that make this model a decent purchase. Those who lack the space are the most attracted by this treadmill. But there are lots of minuses that you have to accept if you want to buy it. This is why this is a treadmill that we recommend to light and small users, for light jogging only.

LifeSpan TR100 comes with both advantages and disadvantages. But let’s start with the pros.

First off, you take it out of the box and you place it right where you want it, no assembling, no neighbors needed to help you out, no screws missing. It comes already assembled, which is something most users look for. Its dimensions make it easy to store, either under the bed or against a wall.

Secondly, the TR100 has attractive speed workouts. But the motor has little power so you have to keep limit your speed.

Another detail we like about this model is that it’s quiet. And it weighs little, so you won’t need any help to move it around.

As far as disadvantages go, the lack of incline is the most important. But because this is not a treadmill for those who want to prepare for a race, it’s something you don’t need. The treadmill is built for walkers and light joggers only (to do that minimum 30 minutes of daily exercise).

Then, there is the running surface. It’s quite narrow, so taller and heavier users shouldn’t consider this model. As this is a lightweight treadmill, it doesn’t offer that much stability.

The TR100 is a treadmill for small apartments. If you have the necessary space, you should consider a larger deck and bigger motor. More details about this unit can be found here.

Conclusions

The Pro5 is with no doubt one of the best LifeSpan machines. But it’s not the best machines you can buy with $3,500.

What is different on this treadmill comparing it with other LifeSpan models? It has the longest belt and it supports 400 lbs user weight (maximum possible).

And that is pretty much it. The previous model, LifeSpan Pro 3 is almost identical and costs $1,000 less. This is the first obvious sign LifeSpan Pro5 is certainly not the best you can buy in this price range.

What are the strongest features of this model, although not unique? First off, its motor is powerful and responds well to the treadmills commands.

Second off, the running surface is huge. No matter how tall you are, you can run as fast as you want.

The unit itself is well built. The motor is cooled by an integrated fan, which makes the motor underlay even heavy workouts.

The display is user friendly. And the Intelli-Key is nice. This is the feature that makes the buttons flash in the right sequence in order to start your workout quickly and smoothly.

But what didn’t convince us at all?

First of all is the workouts selection. For a treadmill over $3,000 the workouts are basic and simple. You can find them on cheaper LifeSpan models.

Yes, it’s nice to be able to insert personal details before a workout so results are accurate. But this is what a $1,500 treadmill can include also.

We would definitely expect to have a compensation in return. Maybe a cool sound system, or a powerful fan. None of these are available.

At least the warranty is decent. Lifetime for frame and motor, 5 years for parts and 2 years for labor assure cover possible risks with such a big investment.

Still, in this price range (above $3000) the alternatives are much more attractive and recommended. If you need other details you can visit the Lifespan website.

LifeSpan Pro3 Treadmill Features

Display Info

The LifeSpan Pro3 is based on LEDs and LCD display. Each LCD has its own purpose. You have the LCD display for the 30 programs segments or the 3 LED displays to check out the console’s feedback on your performance: heart rate, incline, speed, distance, time, calories and a mile lap count, all at the same time.

And as far as incline and speed go, you can easily change them with the handlebar speed and incline controls.

The display also includes a blue lights system. The flashing blue light indicates the button that must be pressed in order to conclude the set-up.

Heart Rate Readings

Use the handlebars contacts to read your heart rate or use the wireless chest strap which is included in the price.

Workouts

The Lifespan Pro3 includes a Manual program, 5 Preset Speed Programs (P1- P5), 7 Preset Incline Programs (P6- P12), 2 User-set-up Programs, Target Heart Rate and Body Mass Analysis.

All programs have 3 levels that you can select during the set-up. The Body Composition uses a ratio of height and weight to measure health risk. Follow these instructions to use this feature.

The Target Heart Rate uses the heart rate to control the intensity of the program. It starts with a 2 minute warm-up and gradually increases speed and incline until the heart rate reaches the selected target.

To get to a User-set-up program, press Up and Down to scroll to either User 1 or User 2 and press Enter. Set the time and press Start. Set the speed and incline for each segment.

Conclusions

The Lifespan Pro3 is a powerful and sturdy machine. We recommend it to fitness enthusiasts and avid athletes. It has great features and an impressive warranty, but it also comes with an inconvenient – a $2500 price. The price itself is not the problem, it’s just that there are other LifeSpan models more richly featured for a lower price.

The Pro3 has some specific features that make it stand up. It offers the largest running surface in its class. Therefore, larger users are welcomed to test it. The powerful motor enables a maximum speed of 12 MPH and 15 incline levels.

But the most important detail is the 1000 LB thrust of the Lift Motor. This proves its efficiency even for intensive usage.

We like the suspension system which backs up the deck. But honestly we would rather have a cushion adjustable so we can control the firmness of the belt. This helps with simulating outdoor running easier.

The dimensions of the Pro3 are both advantageous and disadvantageous. First off, its heaviness insures stability. This is a general treadmill statement. And our experience confirmed it. The Pro3 is stable and built to last for some years, if you maintain it right.

But there is also the space inconvenient. A machine this large and heavy can’t include folding options. If you have a rather narrow space to store this treadmill, you may have a bit of a problem.

Another perk of the Pro3 is that you get all feedback information simultaneously, so that you monitor your performance in detail.

You can easily change speed and incline during workouts by using the handlebar contacts, which maintains workouts consistent. And the chest strap that you can use for Target Heart Rate is included in the overall price of the treadmill.

There’s also the body mass analysis feature that you can use to check out your metabolic rate and body fat percentage.

And in addition, the warranty is impressive. 5 years for parts and 2 years for labor guarantee a machine built to last.

There is no argue on the quality of this machine. It has a generous array of workouts, a powerful motor and it provides intense and consistent workouts. But the fact is that other LifeSpan models include a richer pack of features for a lower price.

For example TR4000i is quite similar, even a little better equipped. And of course, cheaper.

Make sure you make an informed purchase decision. All in all, this is a good treadmill, worthy of your time and money. And if you need additional info you can visit the official page.

TR4000i Treadmill Features

Display Info

A multi-color LCD display engages you in permanent tracking of your workouts. Readouts regard incline, speed, heart rate, step count distance, calories, workout time, date and time and program name.

The cool thing about the console is that it incorporates a feature that guides you through console operations by using lights on the buttons that need to be pressed in order to continue operations.

For easy use, the console offers the buttons you need to surf quickly among all the options. There’s the Pause button, Reset, Enter, Arrows and Handlebar Control Buttons, Program Buttons and Quick Select Buttons.

For proper saving of your workout information, the display also gives you date, time, name, sex, height, weight, age. And you can save your workout information on the USB that comes with the machine.

Heart Rate Readings

You can either check your heart rate by grasping the contact heart rate sensors for about 10 seconds or you can use the chest strap that comes with the TR4000i model, unlike the TR3000i.

Workouts

The TR4000i offers 5 categories of workouts with their entailed programs. And they go like this:

- Sports Training, with 7 workouts
- Healthy Living, with 5 workouts that you can choose from: Uphill Climb, Pyramid Climb, Plateau Climb, Ladder, Uphill Interval
- Weight Management, with 5 programs: Steady Pace, Long Slow Distance, Cardio Run, Short Interval, Uphill Walk
- Heart Rate Control, with 2 workouts: My Zone Constant and My Zone Interval
- User Defined Programs, with 2 User Setup programs

The workout selection that the TR4000i offers is quite motivational. But if you feel you want to create your own workouts, then all you have to do is access the User Setup programs. First, set the time, then the weight, speed and incline for each segment. Press enter and continue with your setups.

My Zone Heart Rate Control Programs provide intense heart rate workout. The Constant program allows the user to maintain a certain heart rate throughout the workout while the Interval program increases your aerobic endurance and improves heart rate recovery.

One of the attractions of this treadmill is the USB option. This model, as well as the TR3000i, comes with a USB device compatible with the Interactive Health Partner online health management system.

Folding options- included

Sound System

Intense workouts sometimes need a boost. For those who are into music as motivation during tough programs, this treadmill will come in handy. The speakers are of high quality and it’s really easy to make volume adjustments.

USB

The TR4000i comes with an USB port compatible with the Interactive Health Partner online health management system. You’ll receive great feedback with this very helpful feature.

Conclusions

The TR4000i is a model that we recommend. This model has received high ranking and very good reviews. And it figures. High quality meets diversity, sturdiness and aesthetics and gives the user a complex, powerful machine.

First off, this is a stable and powerful machine. And on top of that, durable. It seems to be the primary option of many serious runners, and it’s only fair. The powerful motor and a generous running surface engage the user in consistent and injury-free workouts. Moreover, users weighing up to 350 lbs/ 159 kg can benefit from the advantages of this sturdy machine. Plus, great running traction and proper cushioning are provided by the 2.8 mm thick orthopedic belt.

The spotlight falls on the multi-color LCD console. Not only it has fine, aesthetic lines, but it also insures a large variety of workouts and features. You’ll have permanent feedback during your workouts. And talking about workouts, the program selection of the TR4000i meets all requirements. You can easily access the desired workout due to a user-friendly workout structure. Also, you can create your own workout to fit your specific fitness needs. And the feedback you’ll receive is quite specific. Prior to starting the workout, you can insert age, sex, weight and height. Personal values will ensure personal feedback.

There are many users that find the USB feature quite helpful. And we agree. The TR4000i, as well as the TR3000i, incorporates a USB port compatible with the Interactive Health Partner online health management system. This is a great way to manage health and fitness outcome. Most of all, you’ll receive accurate calorie loss values, which is a key aspect for most of the users.

This treadmill has proved its quality and is worth the extra cash. It’s not an easy purchase. You need $ 2300 to afford this treadmill. But it is definitely a smart decision.

The TR4000i insures quality, high standards, workout diversity, accurate feedback, safety and also entertainment. You can listen to motivational tracks with the topnotch speakers. The sound is great and it definitely gives you an energy boost.

Warranty is also satisfactory. Lifetime for frame and motor, 5 years for parts and 1 year for labor confirms the high quality of this machine.

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t make this purchase decision. Except for the notable amount of money. Other than that, this treadmill will make your fitness goals reality. More details about this unit can be read here.

The advantage of this console that separates it from others is that it saves your workout information such as time, date and most of all, name, sex, height, weight and age. This is what will offer you great individual feedback. It’s what most users search for when buying a treadmill.

The console is easy to use and it also has stylish lines that make aesthetics a plus.

Conclusions

The LifeSpan TR30001 is a good, worthy machine that we warmly recommend. It has its deficits but it also has its advantages that make it one of the best products of this year in this price range.

Runners and walkers mostly want a decent treadmill, which is basically somewhere over $ 2400. This is a decent treadmill you buy at $ 1900. If you go for a special offer you buy it for less ( see Amazon: $1600).

It’s a good machine for walkers, joggers, and runners.

The primary advantage of this treadmill is a specific feature that keeps you engaged and consistent in your workouts: the free membership in LifeSpan Club. The USB records all your workout information that you upload on your LifeSpan account where you monitor your progress, and receive encouragement. It’s a great motivational strategy, especially for beginners.

Another perk of this console is specific feedback. You can enter date, time, weight, height, age and sex and the console will provide feedback for your own capacities.

The motor may not be the strongest, but it does provide smoothness. Add the cushioning system and the result is comfortable, smooth workouts. Regarding the belt, is long enough but for a tall runner with full stride it may appear too small.

The programs selection is impressive: 21 workouts, of which every single one is specifically designed to meet different goals.

Our only concerns were the weight and the belt. This is a heavy model. But then again, heaviness provides stability.

This machine also doesn’t have a fan. Cooling down will be less easy than with machines that incorporate a cooling fan. But we believe there are other advantages that offset these few issues.

The warranty is also convenient. There is a lifetime warranty for frame and motor. Parts are guaranteed for 5 years and labor for one year. This is an attractive set of warranties, for a $1900 machine. (UPDATE: at the end of 2011 the price of this treadmill dropped at $1300).

This model has received high ranking. All reviews place it on a high level regarding quality and also, aesthetics. It has passed the test of many walkers, joggers and serious athletes, including ours. Other information about this model can be found here.

Lifespan TR800 Treadmill Features

Display Info

The star of the treadmill is the Backlit LCD that gives you proper feedback during workouts. What you can follow during your walks is information on time, calories, distance, heart rate, speed and incline. It’s more than enough for a machine built for light exercise.

The console is quite easy to use. It’s really user friendly. There are large soft-touch keys, the Start, Enter, Up/ Down buttons and Quick Start that allow you to start your workout with the speed and incline of your choice. And the kicker is that you can control speed and incline while holding the handlebars.

Heart Rate Monitor: Handles

The handlebars are also useful for monitoring your heart rate. You grasp them and hold the hands still for about 15 seconds. It’s great to be able to monitor your heart rate and also change speed and incline so easily. It keeps your workout constant, undisturbed. This is quite important, especially for beginners, whose bodies are not adjusted to serious fitness.

Workouts

This treadmill has quite a large array of workouts. There are 2 heart rate programs, 2 customized user programs and 17 preset programs and you can engage in any of them, in conditions of safety and comfort.

Each of them is made of 20 segments that can be used at 3 intensity levels. Feel free to change speed and incline during workout. The preset programs include Sports Training, Healthy Living and Weight Management. Each has its specific purpose and its own description, but you can make all modifications you want. The disadvantage though is that you can’t insert age or weight for more accurate feedback, so this is something you’ll have to take into account when making your decision.

The user setup only allows you to enter speed and incline values for each segment. Still, good workout, as we see it.

There are also 2 heart rate control workouts. They offer great cardio workout. One of the programs keeps your heart rate constant and the other lets you insert maximum and minimum values that determine the evolution of your performance.

And don’t worry about the cushioning system. It manages the impact on your knees, ankles and feet, so no worries in this area.

Folding Options- Included

Conclusions

The TR800 is a cheap model, easy to use and with notable characteristics that may indulge many of you looking for a good run/ walk. We recommend it only to those in search for a machine designed for daily light fitness. Great for walks or light jogging, but don’t expect too much from it. Still, there are some things that you should consider if you want to check out the TR800.

On one hand, there are 17 preset programs, 2 Heart Rate programs and 2 customized user programs that you can choose from. It’s quite generous and they gather all necessities of a light walker and jogger. Some of them may even be accessed by runners with experience. The cushioning system keeps you comfortable and injury-free, which is more than important for any user.

Then, there are the handlebars. Not only you can monitor your heart rate while grasping them, but also you can change speed and incline. It’s a great premise for balanced and constant workouts.

The heart readings are not 100% accurate. It’s a known disadvantage on all treadmills that have this option. A wireless chest strap can calculate heart rate better but Lifespan TR800 is not built for that. As we see it, this is not a machine dedicated to heart rate workouts.

This is also a space-saving treadmill. Its folding system allows you to easily fold it and deposit easily, of course until the next day, if you want to be consistent about your fitness endeavors.

There is no fan and there is no entertainment with this model, and there couldn’t have been for such a low price. Basically, you buy this machine if you are determined to keep your body fit. For entertainment you must use other gadgets which you easily find in your home.

There is one detail that is kind of an inconvenience. You can’t insert age and weight while setting up the customized user program. You won’t have maximum accuracy with this console, but you will have specific and simultaneous feedback.

And the warranty is poor. One year for parts and labor justifies the low price. To be sure you can use it for a long time, buy it only if you know few people will use it daily and for light workouts only. For intensive workout you need a more expensive mode;.

In conclusion this is a good machine, for a fair price of $1000. For more details you can visit the Lifespan website

The TR1200i has quite an interesting workout selection. There are small chances it won’t meet your requirements as long as you’re interested in basic workouts.

So, what programs will you be able to access with the TR1200i?

- 2 heart rate programs
- 2 customized user programs
- 17 preset programs

The only problem we see is that you can’t insert your personal information in the console, so results will be less accurate.

Plus, the 2 heart rate programs are difficult to use just with the handles, because while you move it’s difficult to keep your hands still.

On the other hand if you don’t find this a big discomfort with the My Zone Constant program your heart rate (as it’s read when using handles) will remain constant, while the Interval program allows you to set your own maximum and minimum heart rate levels.

But you can also customize programs according to your needs, expectations and standards.

This console incorporates a USB port where you can plug in the USB containing your workout information. The idea is that when buying this treadmill, you become a member of Lifespan Fitness Club. This is an online health management platform that lets you control your workouts, your fitness results and also provides motivation and encouragement, which many runners consider important.

As you exercise, your information is being recorded on the USB which, and this is the greatest part, allows you to enter your age, weight and gender that will provide accuracy of your workout information. You can upload this information on your computer and receive a full report on your status.

This feature is available on other brands too but in another format or another website. From our point of view it adds to the quality of any equipment that includes it.

Folding Options: Included

TR1200i folds easily and saves you space when stored.

Unit’s Dimensions in the folded position are: 39’’ length x 33’’ wide x 66’’ height ( 99 cm x 84 cm x 168 cm)

Sound System: Included

This treadmill allows you to connect your MP3 or CD and play your music during workout.

USB Port:

You have USB option to export data that you can later upload on your computer, where Lifespan Fitness Club will provide individual feedback and reports. With the same tool you also import data from the website back in the console.

Conclusions

The TR1200i Treadmill is a sound and solid treadmill that you can use almost everyday for jogging/walking.

We like the speed and incline buttons on the handles. It makes the treadmill easy to control while you exercise.

The motor is not the most powerful or the most silent, but it allows you to finish a 5 k workout at a medium pace without a major discomfort.

The innovation of this console is that it has a built-in USB port which may give you great satisfaction. Not the port, but the USB storage of your workout information. This treadmill has a certain feature attached to it, which is the option to upload your workout information on your computer and receive good feedback.

Only with this option you could set your treadmill workouts to match your age, gender and weight. The console doesn’t have these preset settings included.

The speakers are not of best quality, at least ours weren’t. But we believe it is not that big of an inconvenient.

The 17 preset workouts allow you to set different goals which helps to improve yourself always.

The warranty is also attractive, for this price.

But you can’t expect a treadmill to have it all, at least not for $1,000. There’s no fan and no entertainment except the speakers. And it’s almost impossible to have these features for this price. Other information can be found in official page.

The TR200 is an entry-level treadmill, but don’t worry. It will give you the workout information you need nevertheless. The console gives you access to Start/ Stop, Mode, Speed Control, Incline Control and Quick Select buttons which make it easy for you to track down the following workout feedback:

- Time

- Incline

- Speed

- Calories (just the estimated number of burned calories)

- Distance

- Pulse

- Heart rate

- Lubrication

- Maintenance
*The last two alert regard security measures this treadmill offers.

Heart Rate Readings: HandleBars

The treadmill incorporates Contact Heart Rate Sensors that you only need to grasp during workout, and pay attention: dry hands won’t provide great results. You need to moister your hands a bit before verifying your heart rate. Keep your hands still for a few seconds and then results will display.

Workouts:

The TR200 gives you the possibility to choose between 3 Speed programs and 3 Incline programs:

- Rolling Hills ( Speed)

- Uphill walk (Speed)

-Long Interval (Speed)

- Rolling Hills (Incline)

- Uphill Climb (Incline)

-Long Interval (Incline)

The Custom User Set-up Program allows the user to preset speed and incline for a customized workout. A cool thing about this treadmill is that it comes with a constant heart rate control program. It uses Speed and Incline to keep the heart rate at the pre-set limit. You should use 65% of the maximum heart rate for Weight Loss programs and 80% for Cardio training.

To set up User Mode, press Speed Up/ Down to get to the program. Use Speed Up/ Down to set time. Press Mode to set speed and incline, and then press Start.

You have to set a heart rate for the console to maintain throughout the workout. And note that if the treadmill does not record your heart rate within 30 seconds after warm-up, it will stop for safety reasons.

Folding Treadmill:

The TR200 can be folded and stored horizontally or vertically. You can place it either under the bed or in the closet or in any other unused corner. Therefore, if you have a small apartment and you’re lusting for some workout, you can opt for this machine with no worries.

Also, it comes fully assembled. All you have to do is take it out of the box, stand it up and lock it in the desired place. Pretty cool, right?

Audio Features:

The console has audio in and out jacks that allow you to use an MP3 player or some other preferred audio device with standard input jacks and an output jack to use headphones.

And note that you don’t have Volume buttons on the console. You can change it only from the audio device you attach to the console.

Conclusions

The TR200 Compact Treadmill is a machine that we recommend to anyone looking for compact equipment, easy to manage and easy to store.

But let’s start off by clearing up a very important detail: this isn’t a treadmill for runners, but for walkers. And not any kind of walkers, but those with weight under 220 lbs and not that tall either. Indeed, this treadmill is very strong for an entry-level machine, but it does have a narrow deck and a motor below 2 HP.

Still, for walkers, the motor is more than adequate and the deck is comfortable. And hear this! It doesn’t make terrible noises. Actually, it is a quiet treadmill. So for those enjoying silence while working out, this model may match your desires.

The incline is easy to adjust and provides great Cardio workout. You may be disappointed by the speakers, but you can use your headphones. We believe this is not a deal breaker.

A great thing and I think you all agree with us on this one, is that you receive it fully assembled. You take it out of the box and then jump on it.

This is a sturdy machine, and we are glad to have had the opportunity to review it. It’s durable, it provides great workout, you don’t have to worry about heavy lifting and last but not least, it is made of high quality components, as we believe all LifeSpan products are.

So think no more, and go for the TR200 if you like its features and the $800 price. Other info about this model can be found here

It seems that Lifespan did it again: TR 3000 is one of the best machines you can buy for $1500 price.

<!--

This unit comes with a 2.75 CHP motor, very quiet but powerful at the same time (backed by a lifetime warranty!). The running area is generous (has 56’’ inches length) and comes with 8 variable density elastomers. This system works very well in providing the correct shock protection.

The console has a slick design and we like the futuristic look of the matrix display. The controls are easily accessible, plus there are speed & incline keys mounted right on the handlebars.

The TR 3000 model comes with 6 incline and 5 preset workouts that have 3 different intensity levels each. Above these add the 2 My Zone Heart Rate Control workouts and the Body Mass Analysis program.

Since this is a one of the best machines we’ve tested so far we don’t have anything bad to say about it. The quality of the materials used is excellent, the whole assemble is solid and it comes with an impressive warranty.

As a conclusion for Lifespan TR3000 treadmill review: you can buy this machine with your eyes closed. You will not be disappointed.

PS: At the end of our review we realized we wished for a 60’’ long belt. Many other inferior models have such belt so why not this one too!
