Horizon WT751 Treadmill Review

Think of Horizon WT751 model as a budget machine with good features but also with noticeable disadvantages.

Even though this treadmill is designed to work with a limited 2.0 CHP motor (too little in our opinion), Horizon incorporated a generous walking area supported by an advanced & reliable cushioning system.

The strongest points of this machine are the cushioning system and the console design. Still, these 2 important features don’t and can’t change the lack of other important details which a standard machine must have.

Conclusions

Unfortunately The WT751 model is not a product we would recommend from our heart. This treadmill is a budget unit with no pro feature. Think of it as somewhere in the middle of the “less than $1000 category”.

The motor has only 2.0 CHP and can satisfy only walkers. We simply don’t see this machine keeping up with a jogger or a runner. Also it becomes a little too noisy for our taste.

The running area and the cushioning systems are perhaps the best features for this model. The WT751 features a 55’’ (in length) belt backed by the Air Cell Cushioning system. The Air Cell tech is pretty advanced and works very well.

The console has a futuristic design but still this doesn’t change the negative image we have been left with after testing the treadmill’s performance. There are 7 preset workouts that include 5k or 10k distance workouts (pretty good) monitored through the wireless pedometer.

Don’t forget the warranty which we consider a weak point. Plus, there is no entertainment feature included.

In conclusion the Horizon WT751 is just a basic treadmill that doesn’t stand up. It’s true that we’ve seen worse options but it’s not enough for us to recommend this unit. For this price you have plenty of other choices so try to find a better model.

How is a 2.0 CHP motor only powerful enough for walkers??? 2.0 is plenty powerful. I asked a personal trainer before buying my treadmill and he said RUNNERS require a motor with a horsepower of 1.5 or higher, and I personally use a treadmill with a 2.0 CHP and it’s strong enough to handle running. So what you’re saying here doesn’t make much sense to me at all.

And HOW is the warranty a “weak point”?? There is a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty on the frame and motor, as well as 3 years parts and labour. What is wrong with that?? That sounds fantastic to me.

My friend owns this machine and I’ll be trying it out this weekend, however she absolutely loves it. I’ll be coming back to post the results of my workout on it, with my personal opinion of it – which means something coming from myself, being that I’ve run track my entire life and competed in 5 marathons so far.

But at this point, I think your review of the machine is pretty damning, and seemingly, without any real reason.
