The Horizon T500 treadmill is budget machine that can work only for basic users. The machine comes with a 2.0 CHP motor, very quiet and with enough power to support walkers’ and light joggers’ workouts.

There is also a limited feature which for some can be a real problem. The belt size is too short (only 50 inches long). So for those who plan serious running or for tall persons we definitely recommend looking for another model.

Conclusions

First of all it’s important we highlight that this treadmill is a budget machine. This implies you pay little but you don’t receive too much.

The motor has 2.0 CHP, enough for walkers or light runners. We like that it doesn’t make a lot of noise but at the same time we’ve noticed that it doesn’t have enough power to keep up with a serious runner.

The belt is a detail we don’t appreciate at all. The cushioning system works for the budget category but the walking area is way too short. If you plan only to walk you should be ok but don’t think you can jog or run on this machine. It’s simply not designed for this purpose.

Even though we haven’t pushed it to its limits we think that the 275lb maximum user weight is an exaggerated value.

This treadmill comes with some strong advantages. You have the ETRACK system to monitor your workouts and provide useful information. We also like the mp3 dock and the 9 built in programs.

In conclusion: The Horizon T500 treadmill is a budget machine made ONLY for walkers. And even so you can find better alternatives that do the same things, but in a better version. If you still want to get this model go for the extended warranty.
