Features

Display Info
For the 2012 F3 treadmill, Life Fitness created 2 different consoles: Track console & Go console. The first provides enhanced customization, tracking options and entertainment features. This console is also available to purchase with the F3 treadmill (for $3000), but we will review it with another model from Life Fitness.

The Go console offers 13 workout programs, a wireless heart rate chest strap, 2 user profiles, 1 custom workout/ user profile, Energy Saver mode and Race mode.

The 4″ x 6″ LCD with blue background and white characters offers feedback on calories, distance, speed, incline, time, heart rate, target heart rate, METs, pace. The Low/ Med/ High button changes the incline to a preset value. The Walk/ Jog/ Run button changes the speed to a preset value.

Heart Rate Info:
As all the other treadmills launched by Life Fitness, this treadmill has a built-in heart rate monitoring system, the hand pulse sensors. You also get the wireless telemetry heart rate monitoring system.

Workouts

With the Go console, you’ll be getting Manual, Random, Hill, EZ Incline/ Resistance, Goal workouts, 2 Custom workouts, Time-based Goal training and Distance-based Goal training.

<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-2953019735708873";

With the Race mode, users can outrun themselves against a computer-simulated pacer. The Cool down mode is based on specific time, incline and heart rate and makes sure you return to a proper heart rate level at the end of the workout. You can also activate the Warm-up mode, 2 user profiles, Go system 1-Touch Quick Start and On-the-Fly programming that allows you to surf between programs without restarting or losing the your current workout info.

Energy Saver Mode- included

Sound System- not included

iPod Compatibility- not included

Workout fan- not included

Conclusions

The 2012 F3 treadmill is a comeback of the former F3. It gathers power, diversity and insured safety, and also it is compatible with 2 different consoles, each of them offering its own share of benefits for light joggers and runners.

And since we’ve been talking about the Go console, I must say its main problem is that there is also a Track console, not much more expensive but definitely more attractive.

Pros

Starting with the motor, it goes without saying that the F3 has the power to move users forward. And it’s fairly quiet, I must say. But even so, it’s not an advanced motor to keep up with ultra runners.

Also average is the running space. Taller users won’t be happy with this treadmill as it cannot sustain a longer stride. But the cushioning works great, which is one of our priorities and I’m sure we’re no rare specimen.

The Go display is easy to read and workout feedback is easy to follow. Plus, it pretty much covers every piece of info you may want to be aware of during your performance. The workouts selection is not dismissible, definitely not. Actually, more than 50% of the users may find themselves satisfied with the Go package.

But thinking about it, I can’t help feeling that spending $300-400 more on the Track console is a much better deal. More workouts, more functionality, more programming options.

But the warranty is OK. It’s satisfying. Definitely not a drawback.

Main attraction

I can’t really say there is a main attraction worth mentioning. It’s more of a list of pros, backed-up by some disadvantages. It’s a matter of choice actually, whether you find this treadmill appropriate for your current needs or not.

Drawbacks

The main drawback of this treadmill is the existence of a more advanced console, the Track console, not much more expensive. After all, what’s $300-400 next to $2600, or maybe $2300 when on sale?

Our conclusion is that we only recommend the 2012 F3 Treadmill with the Go console to users who don’t need any type of entertainment and who are very clear about the maximum of performance they are pursuing.
Display Info
The display of the TC10 features 4 different display screens, each for Speed, Distance, Time and Calories feedback info. Aside this feature, this unit helps you change speed or weight values easily by pressing the Increase and Decrease buttons. These buttons also allow you to surf through multiple options.

The Calories Burned indicator shows the total no of burned calories and the Climb Indicator tracks your distance in miles.

The G.O. Coach display shows the weekly progress toward the 90 minute goal for 1 user. Remember that this display is blank in Manual TreadClimber workout mode.

The Time display also shows the weight value for the G.O. Coach user and the Manual Workout mode in LBS or KG.

Heart Rate Readings- not included

This system works as a cushioning system. It absorbs your steps and cushions your joints, minimizing overall fatigue and reducing muscle strain. The closer the dial on the Hydraulic Cylinder is set to the MAX setting, the more intense the workout.

Workouts

This unit offers 2 workout modes: G.O. Coach Workout mode and Manual mode.

The first provides one user a weekly, goal oriented workout: 30 min/ 1 workout, 3 workouts/ week. If you plan to work out more than 90 min/ week, it would be helpful to track your workouts or establish a weekly workout routine. It’s indicated that only one user should workout in this mode.

The Manual mode allows the machine to be used without affecting the G.O. Coach weekly goal. Other users may work out on this unit, when activating this mode.

Conclusions

The Bowflex TreadClimber TC10 is a motivating machine that can get any exerciser, be it beginner or elite, on the treadles. Needless to say, it offers more efficient weight loss workouts, compared to the treadmill alone. And it’s not only the technical description, it’s what we feel while working out on this type of machine. Still, some drawbacks may keep you thinking whether it’s worth the $2200 or not. It only depends on what you’re looking for in a treadclimber.

Pros

The TC10 is literally a treadclimber. More than a treadmill, the TC10 has two treadles, which means it is first and foremost created for walking. You have up to 4 mph in hand. But we’ve been wondering, is jogging on the TC10 as efficient as walking? We say it is. And it’s due to the steep inclined plane that you can get more outputs.

Moreover, you will never have to worry about your safety. It’s amazing actually how this machine keeps you injury-free all the way through your workout. It’s quite an advantage, I’d say. And it’s due to the Bowflex patented system that all their treadclimbers mark 5 stars in safety.

The major advantage of the treadclimber over a treadmill resides in the compact design. Even more, the unit is very stable, so you should have no worries, in case you are a taller user. The frame is made of steel, so safety is once again guaranteed. And it can hold water bottles or any type of reading material, which for some is a dismissible trait, but for others is a key feature.

The Bowflex treadclimber TC 10 doesn’t occupy too much space. It also requires some assembling, but it’s OK, it means that it’s somewhat more portable than other machines. Remember, there are wheels you can use to get it from one place to another. (And it’s easier than with the previous version).

Workouts are first of all highly efficient. While training on the steep incliner, a walker will get the same results as a runner, while keeping away from injury and stress. At full tilt, the TC10 is also a great way of losing the extra weight, much quicker than on the regular treadmill.

Main Attraction

The main advantage of this treadclimber is the G.O. Coach technology. It sets the goal for 3 workouts of 30 min each and then it tracks progress. But only for 1 user profile!

Highly attractive is the Hydraulic Workout Cylinder, a system that keeps your body injury-free throughout the toughest workout.

Drawbacks

But listen to this: there are no preset workouts, no entertainment such as iPod port or Internet connection and it is not made for running. And top of it all, the warranty is somehow short.

And don’t even think about monitoring your heart rate, because you can’t.

All in all, if you need motivational entertainment to keep you on the treadles, this is not what you’re looking for.

Also, if you’re keen on programmable features, you should look another way. If you’re an avid jogger or runner, once again, being here won’t serve you any good.

But if you are a walker looking to stay fit or lose the extra weight, you should consider this treadclimber which will offer a much better workout than the compact treadmill.
Conclusions

The Commercial 2150 is one of the first releases of 2012 and it is prone to become a best buy. This treadmill offers components that you would otherwise find on commercial units, plus a series of innovations that make workouts interactive, motivational. For some, spending $1800 may be an unaffordable luxury, and I can definitely see why. But I suggest thinking about the Total cost of Ownership for a cheaper, but unadvisable treadmill. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? OK, now let’s see what’s with the Nordictrack Commercial 2150 treadmill.

Pros

Well, first of all, it’s everything, from the largest motor anyone will ever find in a residential treadmill all the way to the warranty that evidences the durability of this treadmill.

Not only the motor is powerful, but also surprisingly quiet, at highest speeds. Taller users should not worry, as the running surface is large enough to sustain longer strides.

Although it’s no longer a reason to turn your head around, the 2150 has iFit compatibility, which means creating personalized workouts, downloading them on your treadmill, audio coaching, progress tracking, defining running routes on Google Maps or better said, running the world at large. Sounds good and feels great. We’re not much of the entertainment type of runners, but iFit is much more than plain amusement.

When hitting the workouts button, you’ll see a wide selection of programs that any beginner or professional runner will find enticing, be it for losing the extra weight or staying in shape.

For those who enjoy their favorite tune while running throughout the South of France, they can simply plug in their iPod or MP3 and just hit the road. The speakers are high quality too.

Don’t worry about safety, as this machine is backed up with serious cushioning that will never let any user down. The warranty is a living proof of the long and comfortable usage.

Main Attraction

Where should I start? First off, avid runners may find the available decline levels quite appealing. Downhill running stimulates different groups of muscles. Moreover, you can fully enjoy the Google Maps experience, both uphill and downhill.

The Android Browser is once again a notable feature. You can do on your treadmill whatever you need to do on your computer. Plus, you won’t need any more gadget to entirely enjoy the iFit experience.

And as a cherry on top, you also receive the wireless chest strap, included in the price.

When you’re done, just fold the treadmill and hide it in a corner. It is an easy process.

Drawbacks

Some might say that the price is a drawback, and it is, for those who don’t need the Android browser and the 10″ touchscreen. If so, other treadmills may sound more appealing.

As an overall conclusion, the Commercial 2150 from Nordictrack is a good opportunity to get interactivity, safety, power, functionality, diversity and innovation all in 1. It all goes down to $1800. If you need more information about this treadmill you can visit the official product page located here.

The TC20 is the latest model of the newest Bowflex lineup (launched in 2011). It is the upgraded version of TC5 and TC10, worthy of the entire highlight it’s been receiving ever since the launch.

Indeed, it is a sturdy and dynamic machine that provides efficiency, multi-functionality, a serious pack of user-friendly features and a nice design. But you have to be completely sure this machine is what you want, otherwise what’s the point in wasting perfectly good $3300?

TC20 Features

Display Info

The fully backlit LCD display offers feedback on:
- Time (in minutes and seconds);
- Distance (in miles/ MI or km)
- Calories (counts total calories used)
- Speed (in miles/ MPH or km/ KPH
- Heart rate (in beats/ minute)

The console also contains a G.O. Coach weekly progress display. This feature shows the progress of a G.O. Coach user towards his/ her weekly goal (based on distance, calories or time goals). Up to 2 users can use this feature.

Heart Rate Readings (includes a Wireless Chest Strap)

Being able to work out without using the handles is pretty cool. Also, the heart rate reading system doesn’t compromise on quick and accurate results, which is even cooler.

<!--

Hydraulic Workout Cylinder

The Hydraulic Workout Cylinder works as a cushioning system. This system helps users set the intensity of their workouts. In order to do so, the system must be set correctly. For setting references, users should check the User Manual.

Workouts:

The TC20 comes with 2 types of workouts: Steady State and Interval Training. The Steady State workout involves slowly increasing your workout speed to a challenging and comfortable speed. The Interval workouts involve adjusting your speed faster and slower for specific lengths of time to raise and lower your breathing rate, calorie burn and heart rate.

You can use this treadclimber as treadmill (by walking forward), stairclimber (by stepping up) and elliptical (by combining these two actions). You can choose out of 12 levels of intensity, depending on your goal.

In the User Manual, you will find specific workout schedules for beginner, intermediate and advanced users.

You can also keep a workout log to track your workouts and progress.

The console also allows users to customize the Quick Start workout for time, distance and calories.

The G.O. Coach Workout is a programmable, goal oriented workout. The goal is to climb the three landmark structures- a mountain, a tower and a building- weekly. Your progress will be displayed with landmark segments.

Other features that you may be interested in are:
- The Bowflex Body Weight Loss Plan
- Ergonomic console
- Transport Wheels
- Compact design that fits into any home

Conclusions

The TC20 is the upgraded version of other models from the new Bowflex lineup. Indeed, Bowflex really did put a spin on the classic treadmill in order to offer users a 3-in-1 cardio machine, not only with multiple functionalities but also stable and challenging. There’s a lot of buzz going on around the TC20, but none of it is about the entertainment. We recommend the TC20 to serious cardio enthusiasts, who don’t need the extra motivation coming from iPods and stereo, because you won’t get any.

Pros

First and foremost, the key advantage of this machine is the efficient training. If it’s not the key advantage for you, then you should look for another machine, that’s for sure. The treadclimber gathers 3 different types of workout (treadmill, stairclimber and elliptical) in one movement. If it sounds like the ultimate workout, it’s because it is. And it’s all due to the dual-treadles system.

To make it even easier for enthusiast users, the TC20 allows you to switch from Treadmill or Stairclimber workouts. It’s definitely an advantage. It’s been working great for us, but then again we’re avid cardio users.

To back up your performance, this treadclimber comes with a wireless chest strap, which is a major pro for users who want to work out while having their hands free, without compromising the accurate and quick readouts.

If you’ve ever used a treadclimber before, you already know that calorie burning efficiency is a major plus. Users dealing with weight problems may burn twice as many calories as standard treadmills.

Not to mention the upgraded console, with a smooth and sleek design. Sure, for some users aesthetics don’t matter too much. Well…maybe a little.

The warranty is decent and the design doesn’t need extra room.

Main attraction

By far, one of the most important features for users to bolster their cardio experience is the G.O. console. Up to 2 users can use this goal-oriented console. Basically, it’s a mechanism that interacts with the users in order to establish, monitor and eventually compare goal results. We are really keen on the user-friendly G.O. console, and we think it’s almost imperative for a treadclimber to have such a feature.

Bowflex listened to the complaints of their customers and created longer treadbelts. This upgrade was more than welcome, at least for us.

You don’t have to worry about the injury and the stress, not even a little bit. The 3-in-1 system not only provides multiple workout benefits, but also minimizes impact on joints, hips and lower back.

Drawbacks

Well, the price is not that satisfactory, especially since other treadclimbers don’t require so much money, but they do offer a few extra advantages. Spending $3300 on this treadclimber means that you really must have it.

Also, this unit is heavy, so don’t think you’ll be moving it around.

All in all, the TC 20 is a worthwhile machine. It totally delivers: the efficiency, the functionality and the sleek design, but you do have to look deep into your pocket in order to get it.
The main complaint of those who run on treadmills is the sense of boredom engendered by this type of training. With the two new consoles launched, Life Fitness wants to offer users a complete solution to overcome this impediment.

Livestrong LSPRO2 Treadmill Features

Display Info

The extra large LED multiple windows offers quick feedback on: time, incline, distance, speed, calories, pace and heart rate.

You can setup clock and date and also you can reset the console at any time.

The console also features a Quick adjust keypad that allows you to change speed and incline quicker than the classic system. Additionally, there is a Set incline key and Set speed key used to change speed and incline to level entered into keypad.

Heart Rate Readings

This treadmill offers a dual heart reading system: either use the contact grips or the wireless system. We recommend the second option.

<!--

Workouts

The LSPRO2 comes with 24 programs: Manual, Speed intervals, Peak intervals, Weight Loss, Rolling Hills, Foot hills, Mountain climb, 5K/10K, Pacer, THR Zone, HR Intervals, Austin, Spring Classic, 8 Livetrack Intercative programs and 2 custom programs.

To start a program, select user 1, 2 or guest user and press Enter. Select a program using +/- and press Enter. Complete the program setup and press Start.

Peak Intervals is a good choice for users looking to improve strength, speed and endurance by increasing and decreasing the speed and incline throughout the workout.

If you’re looking for a stamina boost, Rolling Hills is an optimum choice. It simulates running up and down hills to improve muscle tone and also is weight loss efficient.

To use a custom program, select Custom 1 or 2, select Weight, Time, Speed, Incline and press Start.

The cool thing about this treadmill is that it features the Livetrack Interactive technology that you can use by inserting the Livestrong.com USB stick that allows users to interact with Livestrong.com and the food tracking application, The Daily Plate.

Livetrack Interactive Technology

This technology allows users to track their workouts on Livestrong.com, use the Lance-endorsed training plans and also the new fitness cardio programs from Livestrong.

Interactive Passport Media Player featuring Virtual Active

This treadmill offers the possibility to run on 2 trails throughout the Southwest America and Northern Italy. These trails project to your TV, which enables audio/ video workout enhancement. The wireless accessory is included in the price.

CD/ MP3 Player

You can use the speakers or you can plug your headphones into the Audio Out jack at the bottom of the console.

Conclusions

The LSPRO2 is a treadmill built for runners focused on outrunning themselves. Less entertainment and more efficiency is what I always say, and here is Livestrong with a downright proof showing they agree with me on this one. First and foremost, if you’re an avid runner, in search of a strong, durable and sturdy treadmill, I suggest you stay here till the end. If not, a more user-friendly unit, appropriate for average users is recommended.

Pros

So, you’re a taller user? No worries. The running surface is backed up with all the length it needs so that you don’t feel like you’ll be falling off the treadmill at any time.

And you’re somewhat worried about the cushioning? Don’t be. This treadmill is backed up by a firm cushioning system that really keeps the stress off of you. We tested it recurrently and may I say, we feel like brand new once we get off the belt.

We were kind of expecting it, though. After all, the LSPRO2 is an almost commercial machine. I say almost because it’s more of a higher standard than other in-home treadmills. A plus is the full-cast aluminum frame that seems to be made to last. A lifetime even, at least according to the warranty.

But what is a sturdy treadmill good for if it’s not packed with workouts from easy to very difficult? Luckily, you won’t have to find out. This treadmill comes with a wide range of programs, to meet your any requirement. In fact, there are also 2 custom programs available, which is a plus for many users out there. It definitely is for us.

Main attraction

But it’s not all about the in-built workouts. You have the option to download workouts from the official website, and also to track your performance in time. All you need is a USB that you get for free because it comes with the package.

But the buzz revolves around an innovative technology called Passport Media Player, a feature that gives you the opportunity to run on highly exciting trails. For free, you get to run around Southwestern America and Northern Italy. It’s quite funny, actually. If you’re missing Venice, you simply get on the treadmill and enjoy the cityscape, money-free. It seems to me like a sweet deal. It’s more of a replacement of iFit, if you will.

As an additional plus, you get the wireless chest strap for free.

Drawbacks

But before you go all chipper about the Passport technology, note that you won’t be using it unless you have a TV right in front of you. And since it’s not an easy unit to move around, you won’t be able to simply transport the treadmill in front of the TV and then just roll it back.

Secondly, you may expect a more complex console, for the price. But it’s not, it’s rather simpler than other treadmills in the same price range. Unless this detail doesn’t matter, you should consider it when making your decision.

All in all, we recommend the LSPRO2 for its sturdiness, powerful motor, workout dynamics, innovative technology and functionality. If you have $2,000 to spare, you should hesitate no more.

Workouts:

The XT385 comes with 7 preset programs: Hill, Fat Burn, Cardio, Strength, Interval, and 2 Heart Rate, 2 user defined programs and 1 Manual program.

Cooling Fan: included

Conclusions:

The XT385 is a good treadmill, great even. It surely exceeds the features found on lower-end units, so you may be quite satisfied with this purchase. Still, The XT385 is quite similar to the XT285, and XT185 also. But if you focus on the 385 and 285, you’ll see that the differences are quite minor. Still, extra 3% incline may be a good enough reason for some users to spend the additional $300. It is of course a matter of choice. Anyhow, we recommend the XT385 for its quality features.

Pros
The XT385 definitely brings some goodies to the table. The motor is just perfect for walking and jogging. It runs smoothly and steady. But if you have the blood of a runner, you may need extended power. 3.0 HP it’s usually not enough for avid runners. Compared to 285, it’s only 0.25 hp stronger, which is not extraordinary.

The rollers definitely add up to a smooth and quiet treadbelt functioning. They are larger with 0.25 than XT 285, which is OK, but still not worthy of + $300.

The running surface is generous enough to accommodate most users. It’s a bit longer than the 285 and shorter than 475. Otherwise, this treadmill division wouldn’t make any sense, right? Right.

The workouts are diverse and cover a wide area of requirements. The cool thing is that up to 2 users may create the workouts of their dreams, with personal age and body weight values also.

Up to this point, we’re quite fond of the XT385. Especially since you get to cool off with the fan and also connect your Smartphone to listen to your favorite tunes. The warranty is quite convincing, but still, other similar units are insured for life as far as motor and frame are concerned.

But wait, that’s not all. The Heart Rate % Profile offers a quick reference of your percentage compared to the max projected heart rate. How cool is this, especially if you’re into cardio?

A wireless chest strap is also included, which is a blessing for users who enjoy a nice Heart rate challenge.
Incline and speed controls in the handrail area are no longer a wonder, but even so, they are as useful as an umbrella when it’s raining.

Drawbacks
Is there anything wrong with this unit? Maybe, if you exceed 300 lbs. I know that the official description encourages users up to 375 lbs to make the purchase, but here is my advice. Don’t. The 385 is not as powerful as necessary to support weights exceeding 300 lbs.

Also, if + 0.25 hp, + 0.25 roller length, + 3% incline and a slightly longer belt sounds appealing to you, you should definitely consider the XT385. If not, the XT285 may be just as good for you, for – $300.

All in all, the XT385 is a good machine, it does the job nicely, smoothly and sometimes quietly. Definitely a notable unit. For more details visit the official page.

PaceMaster does it.

What is this Trade-Up program?

<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-2953019735708873";

PaceMaster clients know that this company has an outstanding reputation for offering repair parts and service for all PaceMaster treadmills. But sometimes, even producers run out of components. What do you do when this happens? Well, if you’re PaceMaster, you discontinue all repairs for some treadmills and show your appreciation in some other fashion.

The PaceMaster Trade-Up Program offers a $ 300 Trade-Up voucher to owners of the following models: 850X, 840X, SX-PRO, ProPlus Auto, ProPlus HR, ProPlus II, ProSelect and ProElite. With this voucher, customers can purchase a new PaceMaster Premiere series treadmill.

What do you have to do?

First, you get the console membrane from your old PaceMaster treadmill alongside the downloadable voucher to your local PaceMaster dealer.

Second, you purchase a new PaceMaster Premiere Series Treadmill from an authorized dealer. This is when you receive a $ 150 discount off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

Thirdly, you send a bunch of documents, such as the voucher signed by the sales person, a legible copy of the sales receipt with your personal information, the console membrane from the old treadmill and the warranty registration card for the new treadmill to PaceMaster, LLC. and receive a check for an additional $ 150.

Sounds quite easy and alluring. If I were a PaceMaster customer, I wouldn’t wait 1 minute longer.
