The advantage of this console that separates it from others is that it saves your workout information such as time, date and most of all, name, sex, height, weight and age. This is what will offer you great individual feedback. It’s what most users search for when buying a treadmill.

Lifespan TR800 Treadmill Features

Display Info

The star of the treadmill is the Backlit LCD that gives you proper feedback during workouts. What you can follow during your walks is information on time, calories, distance, heart rate, speed and incline. It’s more than enough for a machine built for light exercise.

The console is quite easy to use. It’s really user friendly. There are large soft-touch keys, the Start, Enter, Up/ Down buttons and Quick Start that allow you to start your workout with the speed and incline of your choice. And the kicker is that you can control speed and incline while holding the handlebars.

Heart Rate Monitor: Handles

The handlebars are also useful for monitoring your heart rate. You grasp them and hold the hands still for about 15 seconds. It’s great to be able to monitor your heart rate and also change speed and incline so easily. It keeps your workout constant, undisturbed. This is quite important, especially for beginners, whose bodies are not adjusted to serious fitness.

Workouts

This treadmill has quite a large array of workouts. There are 2 heart rate programs, 2 customized user programs and 17 preset programs and you can engage in any of them, in conditions of safety and comfort.

Lifespan TR1200i Treadmill Features

Display Info:

The TR1200i helps you keep track of your progress and offers very useful feedback. It has a multi-color LCD display that enables necessary readouts for your workouts. You’ll have:

- List Personal data saved on your USB stick (which is useful to use if you have a LifeSpan Online Account). It’s free as useful as long as you own a compatible LifeSpan product
- Approximate number of calories burned
- Distance
- Steps
- Heart rate
- Speed
- Incline

Alongside this information, the display will give you the exercise program name and profile.

The touch keys will make navigation easy and comfortable. By pressing Start, Enter, Up/ Down and Quick Start, you’ll hit it off with specific speed and incline.

Heart Rate Readings:Through Handles

If you want to know what your heart rate is, all you have to do is grasp the metal sensors on the handle bars while trying to keep your hands still. Do so minimum 15 seconds for accurate results.

Workouts:

The TR1200i has quite an interesting workout selection. There are small chances it won’t meet your requirements as long as you’re interested in basic workouts.

So, what programs will you be able to access with the TR1200i?

- 2 heart rate programs
- 2 customized user programs
- 17 preset programs

The only problem we see is that you can’t insert your personal information in the console, so results will be less accurate.

Plus, the 2 heart rate programs are difficult to use just with the handles, because while you move it’s difficult to keep your hands still.

On the other hand if you don’t find this a big discomfort with the My Zone Constant program your heart rate (as it’s read when using handles) will remain constant, while the Interval program allows you to set your own maximum and minimum heart rate levels.

But you can also customize programs according to your needs, expectations and standards.

This console incorporates a USB port where you can plug in the USB containing your workout information. The idea is that when buying this treadmill, you become a member of Lifespan Fitness Club. This is an online health management platform that lets you control your workouts, your fitness results and also provides motivation and encouragement, which many runners consider important.

As you exercise, your information is being recorded on the USB which, and this is the greatest part, allows you to enter your age, weight and gender that will provide accuracy of your workout information. You can upload this information on your computer and receive a full report on your status.

This feature is available on other brands too but in another format or another website. From our point of view it adds to the quality of any equipment that includes it.

Incline: 3 Levels Adjusted Manually

This treadmill doesn’t have an automatic incline system. You have to manually adjust Incline before you start the exercise. If you want to change incline again, you stop, get off the treadmill, change incline and re-start the exercise. Honestly, it’s very time consuming and annoying.

Motor: 1.5 CHP

LifeSpan 5T Treadmill Features

Display Info:

The console has a 4.3 x 1.7 inches display. Workout feedback is very clearly shown. You see the approximate number of burned calories, workout time, speed, heart rate, laps or distance.

You can control Speed only through the up and down arrows.

Heart Rate Readings: HandleBars

From our point of view this system is difficult to use during workout.

Workouts:

The 5T’s console includes only 1 Manual workout and 5 Speed programs.

For each of the 5 preset programs you can choose out of 3 intensity levels. These preprogrammed workouts are easy to use and control. You can adjust intensity at any time. But keep count workouts are designed for walkers or light joggers only.

We enjoyed the Interval workout since it engaged us in both faster and slower speeds, alternatively Plus it includes a recovery period which we enjoy after each intensive workout.

Folding Option: Included

When folded treadmill’s dimensions are: 23’’ (58cm) Length x 28’’ (71 cm) Width x 55’’ (140 cm) Height.

Entertainment Features: Not Included

Conclusions

The LifeSpan 5T is an entry level treadmill. After testing it for a few weeks and considering the poor warranty too this is a treadmill we can recommend only to those who want to use it 30-40 minutes, 2-3 times a week and only for light jogging. Even so, you can buy it if you’re not interested in workouts variety and automatic incline system.

It’s proven this model is designed to meet the requirements of walkers and light runners only.

The workouts diversity is not that impressive, but the 1 Manual and 5 Speed workouts are enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

You have to keep count this treadmill costs are around $ 700. If you buy LifeSpan Fitness LS-5T Folding Treadmill from Amazon it costs $500 only.

In this price you get the 1.5 CHP motor which is enough to sustain the speed belt. But it’s noisy and heats very quickly so you can’t use it for more than 30-40 minutes once.

Regarding the belt size, this is not enough for tall runners and it can be uncomfortable even for medium height users. The cushion system is also poor but if you use it for light jogging only with proper running shoes it shouldn’t be an issue.

There are other disadvantages that come with this treadmill and you have to keep count of them if you buy it. Burned Calories count and heart readings are inaccurate.

The only advantage we see worthy to mention is that it folds and it’s easy to store in small spaces.

But everything you buy comes with a 90-day warranty only. This investment has high risks.

Still, don’t forget this treadmill is a low-budget basic machine and it’s somehow normal to have so many limitations.

If you have an experience to share with us or a question to ask, we’re happy to receive your comments.

Display Info

The TR200 is an entry-level treadmill, but don’t worry. It will give you the workout information you need nevertheless. The console gives you access to Start/ Stop, Mode, Speed Control, Incline Control and Quick Select buttons which make it easy for you to track down the following workout feedback:

- Time

- Incline

- Speed

- Calories (just the estimated number of burned calories)

- Distance

- Pulse

- Heart rate

- Lubrication

- Maintenance
*The last two alert regard security measures this treadmill offers.

Heart Rate Readings: HandleBars

The treadmill incorporates Contact Heart Rate Sensors that you only need to grasp during workout, and pay attention: dry hands won’t provide great results. You need to moister your hands a bit before verifying your heart rate. Keep your hands still for a few seconds and then results will display.

Workouts:

The TR200 gives you the possibility to choose between 3 Speed programs and 3 Incline programs:

- Rolling Hills ( Speed)

- Uphill walk (Speed)

-Long Interval (Speed)

- Rolling Hills (Incline)

- Uphill Climb (Incline)

-Long Interval (Incline)

The Custom User Set-up Program allows the user to preset speed and incline for a customized workout. A cool thing about this treadmill is that it comes with a constant heart rate control program. It uses Speed and Incline to keep the heart rate at the pre-set limit. You should use 65% of the maximum heart rate for Weight Loss programs and 80% for Cardio training.

To set up User Mode, press Speed Up/ Down to get to the program. Use Speed Up/ Down to set time. Press Mode to set speed and incline, and then press Start.

You have to set a heart rate for the console to maintain throughout the workout. And note that if the treadmill does not record your heart rate within 30 seconds after warm-up, it will stop for safety reasons.

Conclusions

It seems that Lifespan did it again: TR 3000 is one of the best machines you can buy for $1500 price.

This unit comes with a 2.75 CHP motor, very quiet but powerful at the same time (backed by a lifetime warranty!). The running area is generous (has 56’’ inches length) and comes with 8 variable density elastomers. This system works very well in providing the correct shock protection.

The console has a slick design and we like the futuristic look of the matrix display. The controls are easily accessible, plus there are speed & incline keys mounted right on the handlebars.

The TR 3000 model comes with 6 incline and 5 preset workouts that have 3 different intensity levels each. Above these add the 2 My Zone Heart Rate Control workouts and the Body Mass Analysis program.

Since this is a one of the best machines we’ve tested so far we don’t have anything bad to say about it. The quality of the materials used is excellent, the whole assemble is solid and it comes with an impressive warranty.

As a conclusion for Lifespan TR3000 treadmill review: you can buy this machine with your eyes closed. You will not be disappointed.

PS: At the end of our review we realized we wished for a 60’’ long belt. Many other inferior models have such belt so why not this one too!

Lifespan TR 500 Treadmill Special Features

Handlebar Controls

14 Preset Programs

The following are also included: a heavy-gauge steel-welded frame, EZ Drop folding system, oversized blue backlit display and an EKG Pulse Grip system.

Conclusions For Lifespan TR 500 Treadmill Review

The LifeSpan TR 500 treadmill is a budget machine and you can see this just by looking at the technical specs. The machine comes with a 1.75 CHP motor that doesn’t have the necessary power to sustain running sessions. However this motor is enough if you plan to do walking workouts only.

The belt size is small to medium. The walking space is only 52 inches long, a value pretty low for a runner but enough for a walker. The belt dimension and motor’s power are the features that confirm TR 500 is designed only for walking.

What we like at this machine is the variety of training features. Lifespan has a different approach than other companies we’ve reviewed so far.

Others companies install workouts focused on weight loss, fitness or performance. LifeSpan added incline and speed workouts. We think this might be just a marketing move since these programs do pretty much the same but, hey!… they have a new and fancy name!

The console has a nice design (the blue display is cool) but there are no entertainment features or built in fans. The warranty is not good but it’s the same budget machines have in general.

As a conclusion for this review: the machine is definitely made for walkers and for those who have less than 1k to spend. Overall this treadmill is not a bad deal. If you are planning to walk or do light jogging consider this model. If you have higher expectations … then move on.

The Lifespan TR 1000 treadmill is definitely a top machine for the budget class. If you are looking to spend less than $1000 and buy a folding treadmill then you should seriously consider this model.

Conclusions For Lifespan TR 1000 Treadmill Review

This is definitely one of the best machines we’ve seen so far for the under $1000 category. The Lifespan TR 1000 features a 2.0 CHP motor that ensures the required power for a standard workout. Even if they say that it has only 2.0 CHP, this motor acts like a 3.0 one.

The running space is generous, supported by a belt 20 inches wide and 56 inches long. For $1000 this is the best you can get. The suspension system (aka cushioning system – Lifespan loves to reinvent the wheel) is formed of eight Variable Density Elastomers that ensure good joint protection.

The console has a decent design, nothing ugly or too fancy and it includes a My Zone Heart Rate Control program and a Body Mass Analysis function. There are also 6 incline and 5 speed programs. Training information is listed on a nice large blue backlit display.

What we don’t like is the lack of quick speed & incline buttons. Most manufacturers add these buttons on the side bar. If the treadmill has a top speed of 10 mph you have 10 quick speed control buttons. One for the 1 mph speed, another one for the 2 mph speed and so on.

These controls are very appreciated by all users but in our case Lifespan put only 4 such controls. Not a deal breaker but definitely something they can improve..

This machine is one of the best in the budget class. The core parts may be the best on the market but the whole assemble has a good value.

As a conclusion for the Lifespan TR 1000 treadmill review: If you have a $1000 to buy a treadmill put this model on top of the list. The TR 1000 is not the most charming machine but your money will be well spent.

The unit has a 2.5 CHP motor and a generous running space. It includes a superb incline & decline system that allows you to add variety in your training sessions. You get a very useful collection of preset workouts and some interesting training features (like Step Counter).

The Lifespan TR2000 treadmill is a machine recommended for walkers or light joggers. It is also an excellent solution for those who want a qualitative treadmill and are interested in saving valuable space when storing it.

Lifespan TR 2000 Treadmill Specifications

1. Speed: 10mph
The treadmill reaches a top speed of 10 miles per hour adjustable via 2 classic buttons or via 4 quick speed keys.

2. Inclination: 0-10%
The machine reaches a maximum incline of 10 degrees. The elevation value is set via 4 quick incline buttons or through the classic up & down controls.

3. Motor
You get a 2.5 CHP motor backed by a lifetime warranty.

4. Belt: 20’’ x 56’’
This treadmill has a 2 ply belt, 56 inches long, enough to provide a spacious running space. As a plus the belt is supported by a cushioning system formed of 8 Variable Density Elastomers.

5. Warranty
The LifeSpan TR 2000 treadmill has a lifetime warranty for motor and frame, 5 years for parts and 1 year for in house labor.

Lifespan TR 2000 Treadmill Special Features

Up And Downhill Walking
This is a rare feature which we find very interesting. The TR 2000 treadmill gives you the option to do both up and downhill workouts. There are 10 levels for incline and 5 levels for decline. Hill interval training becomes much more interesting when you can run downhill also.

Open-Deck Design
The TR 2000 is smartly designed. Lifespan installed the motor under the frame and this way they saved a lot of floor space. That’s why this model doesn’t take a lot of space when storing it.

Intelli-Guard Technology
This is an unique piece of technology. The treadmill “feels” when your foot does no longer touch the belt and the machine turns off automatically in order to prevent any possible injuries.

Step Count
This training program counts your steps during workouts and helps you monitor the progress of the number of steps you make each new day.

The mchine supports a max user weight of 350 lbs LB.

The following features and function are included: EZ-Drop Folding System, Wraparound Handlebars with Front Safety Bar, Large blue backlit display and 2.5’’ rollers.

Conclusions For Lifespan TR 2000 Treadmill Review

We had high hopes for this machine before starting to test it. Overall this treadmill has most of what a top machine offers in general (even a little more than regular). But unfortunately “most” doesn’t mean “all”.

This unit was very close to enter the top 3 treadmills in $1500 value class but it didn’t make it in the end. Let’s see why.

First of all the motor has only 2.5 CHP. This gives enough power for walking or light jogging but it needs a little more horse power to satisfy a runner. The same logic applies for speed and elevation systems. A walker/jogger will be satisfied with a top speed of 10 mph, a runner will want more for sure.

Now the cool part: This machine has an incline of only 10 degrees which is a low value when you compare it with the top models. But do these top units have a decline system also?

Decline feature blew our minds. We pushed those buttons like 10 times just to make sure it was not a dream. And we confirm: this unit has a decline system and it works perfectly. We did the hill training (with up and down elevation) and we were completely satisfied.

If you read other reviews on this site you’ve probably noticed that we are not big fans of regular folding systems. It’s simply because in most cases the folded treadmill doesn’t save too much space. You end up with having a large piece of metal that it’s not on the floor but leaned on the wall. Well this case does not apply here.

Lifespan had an ingenious idea and mounted the motor under the frame. This move made the machine smaller and it saves a lot of floor space when it’s folded.

The preset workouts offer a large variety for your training sessions. There is a decline program, a My Zone Program (targets a specific heart zone) and two Custom User Programs.

There are no entertainment features like speakers or mp3 dock. It compensates with the good warranty: lifetime warranty for motor and 5 years for parts.

As a conclusion for Lifespan TR 2000 treadmill review: unfortunately this unit has some core features less than what it’s considered enough. Because of this it cannot enter our top 3 for under $1500 treadmills. However this is a very good training machine for walkers and light joggers.

This Lifespan version comes also with one of the most exotic features: the decline system.

Even if it’s not one of the top treadmills this machine is the best when it comes to saving space. We cannot award this unit for the overall performance but we can say: this is the best space saver treadmill for under $1500.
