Bodyguard Treadmills

Bodyguard Fitness Brand

The BodyGuard brand is owned by Procycle Inc. This is a Canadian company with offices in Vancouver and Shanghai.

Procycle Inc started its activity in 1977. From the beginning, they specialized in bicycles manufacturing. They started small, but today they export their products in Canada, US and 30 other countries.

Bodyguard Fitness started its activity in 1969 in Norway. Over the years, they have received prestigious awards such as "Best Buys" and "Best Customer Service" from fitness industry experts.

In 1996, they Procycle Inc bought them and since then the brand recognition has grown more and more.

Bodyguard Fitness offers residential and commercial products: treadmills, ellipticals and bikes. All series are first-class machines, and that is why their quality is consistent with the high price.

The Bodyguard treadmill distinguishes by a few key characteristics. They study each technology incorporated intensively before production. For example, The Digital Contact Heart Rate (CHR) system may be the most accurate digital heart reading system we have found on treadmills. We still prefer the wireless chest strap for heart monitoring, but we respect the effort to reach perfection for details that other brands disregard.

When running on Bodyguard Treadmills, you will easily notice that all exercises are accurately correlated with your heart rate. Warm-up, fat burning zone, aerobic zone, anaerobic zone, VO2Max zone, these are details you will find in your workouts settings, and you track results based on your personal information. These options allow all runners to use Bodyguard.

This is only a short summary of the other details we believe make a Bodyguard Fitness treadmill popular: easy to use console keys, high end audio and visual entertainment features, complete workout reporting system and interactive feedback while you exercise.

Although we have had the chance to review only 2 Bodyguard Fitness treadmills so far, this experience made us understand that this brand is a leader.

Strengths

Commercial and Residential Products

Bodyguard Treadmills has offers for both Residential and Commercial markets. This means they have the technology to build highly resistant and efficient products. Not many manufacturers can proud themselves to have offers for both markets in their portfolio. Those who can are among the biggest competitors in the cardio equipment market.

X-Technology

X-Technology is what Bodyguard named their interactive workout system. This system gives you access to interactive workouts. You access the results directly in your Online account, and you can access them anytime.

They also have X-Cards, which are pre-set workouts for treadmills (with voice enabled and automatic control over incline and speed of the treadmill). These are similar to the iFIT SD Cards from Icon Fitness.

Unfortunately, only few modules come with this technology (like T320 X and T460X).

Advanced Friction Detection System (AFDS)

This is a technology included in each motorized treadmill. It protects the motor from overheating by verifying in real time the friction level. You can easily use the treadmills for long runs (including ultra-running training).

For one Bodyguard treadmill review, a tester focused on stressing this feature. The results surprised us. We tested the treadmill for 5 hours continuously, and it kept on going all that time as if it ran for a few minutes, even after intense exercise.

4 WAY DECK

This feature enables long workouts too. It is a running deck (under the belt) that can be pivoted and/or rotated as needed.

Warranty

Bodyguard has 3 warranty options for Residential Treadmills: Classic, Premium, Premium Plus and 1 option for Commercial treadmills. The minimum, Classic Warranty is particularly strong, especially for parts.

Weaknesses

High Price High Price Bodyguard residential treadmills start from $2,000, and they have models in $5,000 price range too. These are not the cheapest treadmills, but this price comes with equal quality and resistance.
