We had the opportunity to test very few BodyGuard treadmills, but it has been a wonderful experience. We created this page to make a short presentation of this brand and highlight the main attractions of the models they produce.
Who Owns BodyGuard Brand
BodyGuard brand is owned by Procycle Inc. This is a Canadian company with offices in Vancouver and Shanghai.
Procycle Inc started its activity in 1977. They were specialized since the beginning in bicycles manufacturing. They started small but today they export their products in Canada, US and other 30 countries.
Fitness Factory owns brands like: Rocky Mountain, Miele and Bodyguard.
BodyGuard Brand History
BodyGuard Fitness started its activity in 1969 in Norway. Over the years they received important awards such as Best Buys and Best Customer service in the fitness industry.
In 1996 they were bought by Procycle Inc and since then the brand recognition has grown more and more.
BodyGuard Treadmills Strengths
Commercial and Residential Products
Bodyguard has offers for both Residential and Commercial markets. This means they have the technology to build highly resistant and efficient products. Not many manufacturers can proud themselves to have offers for both markets in their portfolio. Those who can are among the biggest competitors in the cardio equipment market.
X-Technology
X-Technology is how BodyGuard named their interactive workout system. This system gives you access to interactive workouts. Results are sent to your Online account and you can access them anytime.
They also have X-Cards, which are basically pre-set workouts for treadmills (with voice enabled and automatic control over incline and speed of the treadmill). These are similar to the iFIT SD Cards from Icon Fitness.
Unfortunately only few modules come with this technology (like T320 X and T460X).
Advanced Friction Detection System (AFDS)
This is a technology included in each motorized treadmill. It protects the motor from overheating by verifying in real time the friction level. This allows using the treadmills for long runs workouts (including ultra-running exercising).
4 WAY DECK
This feature enables long workouts too. It’s a running deck (under the belt) that can be pivoted and/or rotated as needed.
Warranty
BodyGuard has 3 options for warranty when it comes to Residential Treadmills: Classic, Premium, Premium Plus and 1 option for Commercial treadmills. The minimum, Classic Warranty is very strong, especially for parts.
BodyGuard Treadmills Weaknesses
High Price
BodyGuard treadmills Residential Treadmills start from $2,000 and they have models in $5,000 price range too. These are not the cheapest models, but this price comes with equal quality and resistance.
BodyGuard Treadmills Reviews Done so Far
- Bodyguard T240 C Treadmill Review
This is a treadmill that costs $2,999.00 CAD. The belt is not built for tall runners. Its greatest advantage is the Cushion System, but it’s not enough for this money from our opinion.
- Bodyguard T240 Treadmill Review
This treadmill has similar features to T240 C, but at a better price ($2,599.00 CAD). The treadmill is very robust and it’s a good investment if you have this money to spend.
